OOOOH I didn't know the Corn Dog guy was camping here too! I visited his stand at the Blues Festival!
I see the Parking Lot dog, where else....out in the parking lot! He seems to have a treasure? I zoom in & discover his treasure is a SHOE! I wonder where the dog got a shoe?
Now he's got another shoe, is someone missing a pair of tennis shoes!?! Looks like playing with the shoes wore him out! The shuttle bus driver told us this dog has been hanging around the casino parking lot for about 2 months!
Heading down the road, cotton fields besides us, Back to the Tom Sawyer RV Park in West Memphis, Arkansas. It was a rainy day, in fact we left Helena, Arkansas just in time.....they got some pretty heavy rain storms after we left. For us at the Tom Sawyer RV park....we had rain & wind to the point we brought our slides in, once again we were snug as a bug in a rug!We woke up to another rainy day, but good for us the winds had died down greatly & we could come out of our "cocoon"! I think Otis likes it when we're all in our "bug shell"!?!
Because of the weather, Lennie kept tracking his mom's flight & sure enough, her flight is slightly delayed. Just before it was time to go to the airport, the rain stopped, not completely, but enough to function in! Lennie checked her flight status one more time.....whoa now her flight is scheduled to be ON TIME! We've got to go!
It's still a little rainy out. since we arrive at the airport just about the same time the flight arrived....Lennie dropped me off to go retrieve her while he waited in the CELL PHONE parking lot! It was my first time at the Memphis Airport & I was a little nervous to go in there by myself & try to find the baggage area & Lennie's mom. She wouldn't be hard to fine.....they were going to wheel her from the plane to the baggage area in a wheelchair. It's a small airport, once inside I realized there was nothing to be nervous about!
It took her luggage longer to come down the luggage carousel, than it took for her to be pushed down to baggage. I think the must have loaded the luggage alphabetically, being a Williams.....you know hers was put on last!?! Lennie even called once from the Cell Phone parking lot making sure I found her alright! Yep....just waiting on the luggage! Finally we're set to go & we stop by Corky's a great BBQ restaurant in Memphis for a bite before heading back to the Tom Sawyer RV Park.
& before going to bed, we had one more night time treat!
A Paddle boat was going down the Mississippi! We were use to watching the barges go up & down the river, but this is the first time we saw a Paddle Boat on the river!
The restoration of the Dyess Colony is still a works in progress. As funds become available, the Dyess Colony will once again look like it did when it was first created in 1934.
In March of 1935, Ray & Carrie Cash moved into this 5 room house in Dyess, Arkansas with their 5 children. Two additional children were born while they lived here. (This was only a 2 bedroom home!) The Cash family lived in this house through 1953.
We drove through Memphis looking at some of the tourist attractions, but not getting out, Lennie & I had just been here, & the walking was too much for his mother.
We almost went here, to Sun Studios but......a Tour bus full of tourist got in just before us......& the wait was going to be just too long for us to wait for the next tour....
I think Otis called anyhow so we'll go back to the RV & see what we're going to throw together for dinner!
It was such a rainy off & on day, I can't believe the beautiful sunset we had!
Was Otis watching this barge.....or perhaps a neighboring camper walking their dog caught Otis' attention!?!
It's a real nice RV Park, the only restrictions they had was.....Dont let your dogs urinate on the Yucca Plants??? Otis said, "Piss on those Yucca Plants"!?!
Tomorrow we're heading to Harrison, Arkansas to visit some of Lennie's family & some of my family is in a nearby town! Two birds with one stone!?!

Are you sure you have nothing more to blog about? It's going to be along cold winter....
