Still in Illinois........

August 24th-September 20, 2015-When we first arrived in Illinois, we were surprised at their "FALL-like" weather which lasted about a week! The second week summer came back with a vengeance!!!!Never satisfied!!! We did our usual things while we were here......
September 2, 2015-Wednesday

 We had pizza at Ginos with Kevin & Reese(I bet Reese wishes I would have taken the picture after he was done with his pizza bite!?!) Reese was sporting a broken arm, we HAD to write on his cast!

Reese fell off his electric bike doing 20 MPH on a flat tire going around a corner where he met up with a pot hole??? This is a kid that got almost a perfect score on his ACT tests!!!!

September 4, 2015-Friday-Tonight Lennie & I are going to Sycamore Speedway to watch the Demolition Races. Sycamore Speedway is a race track Lennie has been enjoying since he was 16 years old. During our marriage we've gone there ourselves many weekends with & without our kids up until we eventually moved to Florida. It was always a fun time! We asked Leif if he wanted to join us, which he did, so he came over for a light dinner, & we were off to the races!

 The time trials start at 7:30pm, after dinner we start that "country" drive! We do have the benefit of the sun starting to set!

There was a real crowd waiting to get in!!!

September 5, 2015-Saturday Tonight we met Kevin & his friend, Michelle at a Mexican restaurant for dinner....Kevin's treat, which made dinner even more enjoyable!!!! Michelle brought her daughter, Jackie along. I knew this in advance & brought Jackie one of my loom knitted hats!

This restaurant, the salsa & guacamole was made fresh at your table. The salsa, we asked for MILD, but it had a little kick to it! The guacamole was the best I've had....it was great!!! 

September 6, 2015-Sunday-Today our grand kids, Trinity,Courtney & Dylan drove down to see us at Hi-Tide! Trinity was home from her FIRST college break!!!! Plus the fact she shares a birthday with her other grandma & it just happened to be this weekend!!! Trinity's boyfriend, Ryne drove them down. Ryne said he wasn't going to swim even tho Lennie offered his swim trucks to Ryne. Lennie is a non swimmer, never learned!?! Turns out Courtney is also a non swimmer. I swim, but am NOT a strong swimmer....I could never save anyone, mainly because once I take my glasses off....I'm blind! Chris Flippen, the owner at Hi-Tide has a LOT of inviting toys in the swimming lake. there's also fish in the swimming lake! thank good Hi-Tide also has a swimming pool with nice clear water!!!

Dylan immediately wanted to go out on some of those inviting swim toys, he's trying to convince Trinity to swim out there with him! Courtney & I go to the pool!

   Lennie persuaded Ryne to change into swim trunks & take Dylan out into the swimming lake!

                    Dylan wanted to climb the Artic Iceberg, the newest toy in the swimming lake.

Give me the pool anytime, where I can see the bottom & there's no fish swimming around me!!! I like to catch fish, but swim with them....not so much!!!

We ended out day enjoying pizza from Uncle Milty's, then sent the kids off, they have an hours drive on country roads before they get back to Prairie Garden, we don't want them driving that route home in the dark, there's always that deer factor out here in the country! We had a nice day!!!!
