Monday September 5, 2016- This morning we are leaving Leelanau Pines in Cedar, Michigan our destination is Finn Road Campgrounds in Bay City, Michigan
.
                                                              Ready for Take-Off???

                                                                                                 I'm Ready"

 Hooked up, ready to roll!

I'm trying to convince Otis he can ride on the floor, or his bed, just not my lap!?!

He's trying to tell me, MY LAP is the only place he wants to ride!

Heading out on Labor Day Monday, I love these country roads

                                                                                 & country scenery!

Oh Oh....what happened to the country!?!
                                                                    Time to test our boost!

                                                                   Top of the Hill?
Time to jump in the Labor Day Weekend traffic!?!

Traffic as far as we can see!
When we reached the end of it, we saw no road construction or accident, it was just holiday traffic!
Bay City is now in sight!

The park must be out in the boonies!?!

We're here! This campgrounds is another CITY PARK, it really nice! Lots of shade, concrete pads, beautiful Grass! Otis is going to love that, plenty of new sniffs!

Nice site!!!
For our Labor Day dinner, Lennie is grilling up the turkey legs we bought at the Farmer's Market in Petoskey!

Yummy! Turns out 2 drumsticks was too many! We shared one!!!
Happy Labor Day!

Tuesday September 6, 2016-This morning after our coffee & oatmeal, instead of going for a walk...we go for a bike ride!

There are 2 paths at the campgrounds. This concrete path, which we thought would take us to the Bay?
But no....just to this turn around?

This 2nd path a bit more rustic.....

There's definitely something wrong with this picture!?!
                                                                   OMG!!! Shells???

How can this be a HUNTING & WALKING Path???

I'm not sure what's "in season" out in these woods?

                                                     Oh THANK GOODNESS!!!!

We came across a beautiful house out in these woods, apparently they don't want to be disturbed by hunters thus the NO SHOOTING sign!?!

Back at the park we prepare a picnic lunch. we don't really know where we're going....just a park!
Our picnic spot wasn't exactly a park, but a waterfront area with scattered picnic tables! It gave us a nice view while we had our lunch!

What we didn't know, but quickly figured out.....our lunch spot was a HOT-SPOT for Pokemon Go hunters & we don't even know who or what Pokemon is!!!! 10 different people came to this spot as we were eating with their cell phones in hand. Some of them even RAN to this spot??? I could tell they were the Pokemon Hunters by the LINGO they were speaking!!!!

This was a nice waterfront park the perfect place to look for Pokemon!

We stopped here at the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum, just to check on entrance price....Otis is with us! We may come back tomorrow. This ship is the USS Edson DD-946 She was built in December 1956, first launch January 1958.First commissioned February 1959.1st Deployment January 1960, 2nd Deployment August 1961, 3rd Deployment March 1964, 4th Deployment October 1965, & 5th Deployment January 1967 when she went to Vietnam. In fact her nickname is The Grey Ghost of the Vietnam Coast. Wonder what kind of stories this old ship can tell us!?!

Heading back to the campgrounds, it was a hot one today....93 degrees! We have dinner & Otis is served but he doesn't eat? Maybe today's heat got to him? After the dishes are done, we take Otis for his nightly walk. Right away he wants to eat the grass.πŸ˜• Oh-Oh......he must be working on a stomach ache πŸ˜‘ Sure enough only a few more steps before Otis Puked!😩 Poor little boy dog......The rest of the night Otis is just a lump of fur lying on the couch.......At bed time he didn't even eat his bed time treat??? I could hear his stomach pinging away.

Wednesday September 7, 2016- This morning Otis showed no interest in his breakfast, poor boy still has the punies. Our original plans for today was to pack a picnic lunch & take a ride to Lake Huron.But......because Otis doesn't feel good πŸ˜‘ we let him rest up this morning! Eventually we decide to go for a ride. Otis actually wants to go with us.Our ride took us to lunch! the Old Town Drive-In! It was a cute little Drive Thru restaurant with car hops & they made their own root beer! It was gooooood!!!! I had a cheeseburger with fries, Lennie had coney dogs with onion rings. He got Otis a hot dog, but Otis said "No Thanks" I didn't take any pictures cause Otis was recuperating on my lap!

Lennie read about this Veteran's Plaza & since we were already out & close by we may as well look at it!

It was nice .
What doesn't show up in the pictures is the bricks with the names of loved ones who passed during the different wars.

We're going to head back to Finn Road Campgrounds now. Otis probably wants to rest!😏 when we got back to the RV, I put his hot dog down by his food bowl & he did go eat it! Maybe he's starting to feel better! Rest up Otis boy!

Thursday September 9, 2016- This morning Otis shows an interest in eating his breakfast, that's a good thing because today Lennie & I are going to Frankenmuth & Otis is staying home! Frankenmuth was founded in 1845 by a group of 15 German-Lutheran missionaries who came to the area to teach Christianity to the Chippewa Indians.Frankenmuth is Michigan's Little Bavaria. You can spend a day here or make a whole vacation of it. There's plenty to do in Frankenmuth from all kinds of shopping, carriage rides, boat rides, fishing, EATING, & let's not forget Christmas all year long! That's where we started our visit to Frankenmuth to Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, the World's Largest Christmas Store!

Wait till you see what's on the other side of these doors!!!
A person could spend HOURS in here!

The ornaments are sectioned off by categories, you name it....they had it!?!
Not just ornaments, anything you needed to make your Christmas Merry & Bright was here inside of Bronner's Christmas Wonderland!
Funny how Lennie was ready to leave the Christmas shop before I was!?!
Our next stop is a late lunch, a short drive from the Christmas Shop we come to Zehnder's of Frankenmuth!
America's largest family restaurant with seating for over 1,500 guests!Zehnder's offers a full service menu of ALL YOU CAN EAT family-style chicken dinners, seafood, steaks, fresh baked goods, & European  desserts!

Famous for their Chicken of course they'd have a Floral Chicken out front to greet everyone who enters!
We are waiting our turn to be called into the dining room!

Guess what!?! Our waitress came over & introduced herself, so chipper she announced,"Hello, my name is WENDY & I'll be taking care of you!" We didn't get any discounts because my name was WENDY too!!!!
The food is sooooo good, we DIDN'T  order the ALL YOU CAN EAT CHICKEN dinner!

After we ate, we went downstairs where they have a gift shop & a bakery!!!! We'll have to walk our lunch off & come back here later!!!

It was fun walking along the streets of Frankenmuth with their European flair!

The famous "holz-brucke" or covered bridge is made entirely of wood! The only metal in it are the nails that hold down the shingles, siding, & floorboards. It was pulled across the Cass River over a 2 week period by a team of Oxen in January of 1980.

More shops for shopping, or in our case....just to look around!
There's a calendar of events of what's happening in Frankenmuth. We happen to visit ONE DAY early for their big weekend Car Show & Craft Festival!!!! Just our luck!?! While we were walking around town we did see several Cool Old Cars coming into town!
                                                    Couple Oldie but Goodies!

We're ready to leave now....I think Otis called! But first....back to Zehnder's bakery!
We drive through the covered bridge, then hit the road!

Otis was really glad to see us, or was he just ready for a potty break!?!
We brought him some of our leftover chicken!
It was a real good day!
Tomorrow.....Good-bye to Michigan!
