Dylan's Baptism........Dinner with the McDaniels!

May 24, 2015  Sunday-This morning we wake up EARLY....to the sound of rain! According to the weather channel, today was suppose to be nice & tomorrow was to be the rainy day! I feel sorry for the tenters out here at Hi-Tide. I don't know what the other campers are doing....hoping for a better tomorrow or packing up & heading home? I may not get any pictures of the Memorial Day Weekend "ZOO"
It doesn't matter what the weather is like...we have a baptism to attend to, rain or shine, here we go!
The baptism was held at St Johns United Church of Christ in Harmony, Illinois. Hmmmm, never heard of Harmony before, it was right outside of Hampshire which we have heard of!?!
The lighting of the candles before the service starts.

It is a woman preacher, & when it was time for the baptism, not only did she have Dylan, along with his family, stand at the pulpit, she also had all the young kids come up & witness the baptism!

Dylan was so serious throughout the entire ceremony!

After Dylan was baptized.....there was REFRESHMENTS!!!

                                 Then there was pictures!!!!
Dylan with:the preacher, parents & godparents

The WHOLE family

Dylan with all the Grandparents!

                                                     Us!!!
Dylan with Grandma & Grandpa Sturtevant

All the Williams' kids
After All those pictures....Dylan finally got to open his cards!
Dylan has been wanting to be baptized for 2 years. They chose the date of his baptism during this years travels so we could attend this great event!
Congratulations Dylan on your decision to be baptized!!
When we left the baptism it was drizzling rain! Rain was NOT in today's forecast....that's for tomorrow!?! It can still change....Otis is happy we're home, I hate to disappoint you Otis but we're just here for a short spell, we're going over to Lee & Lana's & sorry Otis.....you're going to wait at home, remember....you are the family dog!?!
I think I'm going to work on the Travel blog for a few minutes & before I knew it, it was time to leave for the McDaniels'! This is not a long drive....Lee & Lana live closer to Hi-Tide than anyone or anything else we do while in this area!

Soooooo in less than 5 minutes we pull up at the McDaniels!!!
We are greeted by everyone, including Lee's mother Carmen, who was visiting Lee & Lana
It smells REAL GOOD in the kitchen!!!!
Lee's going to cook brats on the grill, we're just waiting for Leif to arrive before the brats go on. Lee goes to check the coals when he spots "something" on his barn's roof top.....We all took a stab at guessing what it was, a eagle, a hawk, we decided it was a turkey buzzard!
"Clyde" who had been out visiting in the yards....returned home & then wanted to come in & visit!
Poor Clyde....he wants to come in & be sociable!

Leif arrives & the brats are taken out to the grill!
& perhaps the Grill Master!?!
Looking good!

And we all wait patiently while Lee grills! I can just taste those brats!
The buns are done....must be time to eat!?!
Everything is sooooooo good! Brats, baked beans, tomato corn salad, & especially something Lana called pineapple stuffing! I need that recipe!!!

After the wonderful dinner we go out on the deck to relax & let our food settle!
I notice while we're out on the deck that Lana has a tenant too!
"Mrs Robin"
How do you top off a dinner like we just had???? With dessert!

We didn't ALL have dessert.....Clyde had Frozen GREEN BEANS!?!
& he LOVES them, he even gets his own bag!
It was a great dinner Lana, thanks a lot. We better head back to Hi-Tide, see those rain clouds, Otis will be nervous if a storm comes in.
See you guys later, it was great!

We got back to Hi-Tide, Otis was walked before it rained.....but it did rain. We saw some campers pull out, I guess they had, had enough of a rainy Memorial Weekend!?!

  1. Pineapple stuffing - mix together 1c sugar, 1 stick melted butter/margine. Beat 4 eggs & add to sugar mixture. Add 16oz crushed pineapples. 7 slices of white bread cubed. Pour mixture over bread & bake @ 350 for an hour. Enjoy!đŸ˜€

  2. Wendy, my recipe had 1/4 c. Milk and only 1/2 c. Sugar. I will try Lana's version.
