August 3, 2013 Good-bye Houghton~Hello Munising!

This morning, on the day we leave Houghton City RV Park starts out just like every morning we leave for the next RV Park! Today Lennie must have really been in a hurry to leave!?! While I was showering he was doing all the inside jobs! Wow!!! When I got back from walking Otis, Len was ready to roll!
Good-bye Houghton!
Our destination is Munising, Michigan(also in the UP).less than 150 mile drive. It too is a city park.
Before we even get to Munising, we stop at Tioga Creek Roadside rest area.
It wasn't just time for us to get rid of our coffee....there's a waterfall here! The path to the waterfall is well marked!
& so we set out!
When we reached the Tioga Falls, we see these are not falls with a great vertical drop,
just nice cascading falls!
We follow the path back
to see where the falls empty.....
& there I see my amber colored falls rushing over the rocks!
We arrived at the City of Munising Tourist Park, just in time for lunch. He had that figured out ahead of time!
While he's outside hooking us up, I'm inside making the lunch!
This is a much bigger park than the City Park in Houghton, tho most of the park is for "real campers" That's those crazy people with tents & no hook-ups. There's only a few sites with complete hook-ups.
We've been in this area before, a few years ago. In fact Otis has bad memories of this area! We put him in a kennel while we went on a 3 hour cruise of Pictured Rocks!!! I'm surprised Otis wanted to ride with us when we said we were going on a short ride! First stop a grocery stores, just a few items, it's cold here so Otis can wait in the car. Right next to the grocery store is a Tourist Information Shop & Len runs in to get a waterfall map! He already had an idea(from research!) that we were close to a waterfall....& we were, sooooo
let's go see it! It's just a roadside fall
but still nice!!!
We head back to the RV park. The town right before the RV park, in fact within walking distance, is CHRISTMAS, Michigan. And every town called Christmas has....
a Christmas shop! Of course I went in there! The owner told me if I brought my postcards to her, they would be postmarked Christmas! There's also a town in Florida named Christmas. When we first moved to Florida 20 some years ago, we drove to Christmas to have our Christmas cards postmarked from Christmas!!!
After dinner we take Otis for a walk around the park. You know, new park new doggie smells!?!
As I said this park is much bigger than the city park in Houghton. They don't have half the playground here that Houghton had but.....they have the biggest swimming pool ever!
Lake Superior!
& they have.....
SUNSETS!!!!

Tonight Lennie has been studying the Waterfall map & tomorrow I will start snapping pictures!
