(Let's see if I remember how to do this blog thing!!!!) We arrived in Leland, Illinois at Hi-Tide Campground the afternoon of August 24th. We're a few days early but we called the owner, Chris Flippen as soon as we learned we were leaving Wisconsin early to make sure we could come into Hi-Tide early. Everything worked out for us so far.
Lennie talked with his cousin Larry regarding his cousin Connie's funeral/memorial or whatever they were going to have for her. He was surprised to learn that his Cousin Connie requested "NOTHING" be done for her?????? It was a little disturbing to us, but if that was her wishes, so be it. So it was a private, good-bye to cousin Connie.....
Our month in Illinois was to enjoy our family, friends, & do as much as possible! When we visit Illinois we stay at Hi-Tide Campground.Mainly because it's the only campground in the area!!! No matter who we want to visit, it's a quite a drive for us! Hi-Tide is a nice campgrounds, with a great swimming lake & pool. I just wish it was closer to everyone! We had a little excitement on Labor Day weekend, during a storm, lightning hit a transformer putting the campground without electricity for 15 hours! Thank goodness for a generator!!!! I did feel bad for the campground owner, Chris Flippen, Labor Day weekend is generally the last big weekend for a campground owner & the last thing he needed was a power problem. but alas, the power came back , the sun came out & the weekend was saved!!!
It would be IMPOSSIBLE for me to state everything we did during our month in Illinois, like I said Illinois was all about Family, Friends, & FUN!!!! I'm just going to post the best of our pictures of some of our fun!!! Here goes!!

We had a month of fun with family & friends while staying in Illinois. But it wasn't all fun....
While here, a cyst on the back of Lennie's neck(he's had the cyst a looooong time) got infected?
After the lancing & a week on antibiotics, the cyst was back to "normal" again. He's having it removed when we return to Florida!!!
A hard day for us was saying "Good-bye" to Jacob. It still hurts soooooo much, it just doesn't seem real....... I placed some of mom's ashes at Jacob's grave site......
That pretty much wraps up our month of activities here in Illinois. So on September 25th we are busy preparing for our departure on Friday the 27th.I'm extra busy on the 25th cause on the 26th I'm going to a craft show at the Sandwich Fair with Ingrid & Chris!!I start my morning off with a good long walk with Otis.Shortly up the road, a neighbor dog, that I knew from previous walks, CHEWY, joined us for our entire walk. When we got back to Chewy's house, Chewy wouldn't go home! He followed me to the campground!.I was to the point I was going to go do laundry & Chewy was still hanging around!
When I tried to load the laundry in the car, Chewy "loaded" himself! I guess he was asking for a lift! So I gave him a ride home!!!! Good-bye Chewy!!!
September 27,2013 bright & early we pull out of Hi-tide Campground in Leland,Illinois. This is the sight we see as we pull away, sunrise over the cornfields!
