October 19th & 20th,2013 Front Royal, Virginia

This morning we prepare to leave Intercourse, Pennsylvania,

this picture is not of the sun coming up, but the effect of last nights full moon on the morning.

I wouldn't have known this but.....they spoke of it on the news last night! We' are taking off early this morning, but not this early!?!
After breakfast we get ready, & I missed the best photo shot ever of the two days we were here!!! As I was helping Len back out onto the street, the young Amish farm boy who lives at the farm behind the campground was letting his cows go from the barn to pasture. There I was without a camera as these cows followed one another, one by one to pasture....
The campground sites were really close at Beacon Hill. Len had to drive across the street to a shop parking lot & I followed him over there for hook-up.As I look up to the campground I can see the cows have all gathered together in the pasture.
We're all hooked up ready to roll!
Before we pull out onto a highway, an Amish horse & buggy drive by giving Otis one last chance to raise heck with them!!!
Go get em Otis!!!!

We head out for our destination of Front Royal, Virginia to Poe's SouthFork Campground.
Who would have thought the problems we were going to run into when we arrived there!!!
First problem....the sewer connection ran up hill??? I don't know how this is going to work out when it comes time to dump the tank???? The next problem I had to laugh about tho it wasn't real funny!?! Our RV is used, but not abused.12 yrs old so there are a few things that don't work on the bus. There's been a few times when I've tried to open the  door (the only door on the bus) & it's been difficult to open? Today after we arrived, I was walking Otis, Lennie was still inside when he calls to me & asks, "Wen can you open the door from the outside, I can't open it from the inside?" I tried to open the door from the outside & it wouldn't open!!!!Len was stuck inside!!! I couldn't help but laugh, & he reminded me it wasn't funny....but it was! I handed Len his tool box & he took the lock & handle off from the inside. And all too soon he was a free man again!!!

To celebrate his early release....we decided to take a quick ride into Shenandoah National park, now that the government has gone back to work & the park is open!
We've been here before a few years back, but some things are worth repeating!
.
a little sunshine would have been nice but the fog gave the mountains that Smokey Mountains look!
.
.
My camera battery is in the red zone....time to go back to the RV. We're going to make a pizza for dinner!
I don't know what Otis did all day, but he's whipped! He wouldn't even eat his dinner????
Maybe Otis is still thinking about Amish horse & buggies!?!
Tomorrow we are going to meet my niece Theresa Erickson Stevens at a nearby Flea Market. I'm looking forward to both, seeing Theresa again & going to a Flea Market!!!Who says Tomorrow never comes? Here it is, Today, yesterday's Tomorrow! And after breakfast, the GPS is already programmed for the Flea Market! It's only 15 minutes from our campground, here we come in search of FLEAS???
Theresa & Randy met us there!
Flat Stanley came along, but not Otis, good thing cause the sign said NO PETS AT THE FLEA MARKET which makes sense why would you bring your pets around fleas!?!
.
Flat Stanley was finding all kinds of treasures!Lennie found a "Treasure" too, he bought a RV sewer hose!?!
We left the Flea Market to get a taste of class! We drove to Winchester, Va just ta short distance to historic Old Town.
Unfortunately being a Sunday a lot of the cute shops were closed, but the history was still there!
I think it was at this point that Randy said we better eat, he was WITHERING AWAY!
& we found a good place to eat, recommended by a local...
the Village Bistro!
Lennie & I both had the Hungarian Goulash,
Theresa & Randy both had Chili in a bread bowl!
That was our LUNCH & DINNER together, therefore..."Linner"!
Short day but an enjoyable visit!
.
& we walked back to our cars & headed off in our separate directions, hoping for another visit soon!

Mr. Otis was left home alone today, so you know where Lennie was headed when we left Randy & Theresa!?!
Yep, Mr McSpoiled hasn't had a McDouble in awhile!
Otis was one happy dog when we got back to the RV!
Where's my TREAT!?!
There you go Good Boy!!!

Time to move on, tomorrow's departure is earlier than I like! Our destination of Mt Airy, N. Carolina AKA "Mayberry" is just an overnight stop. We hope to arrive early enough to walk around the "Little Mayberry" I'm hoping  we get there in time for the infamous Pork chop sandwich!!!
