Tuesday August 12, 2014 The rain we had brought in a little cooler weather. We even had to pull the up the quilt up on the bed! Otis & I were really snuggled in the bed while Lennie was out walking! When he came in from his walk, look what I woke up to!!!!
I thought oatmeal would be a good breakfast on this "CRISP" morning, when Lennie suggested pancakes, I thought that was even better!!!!!Today was one of those days that we just did nothing! It felt good too! After the breakfast dishes we took Otis for a walk. I thought his "normal" walk, but noooooo we walked him all the way to downtown Houghton. If I had known that.....I would have carried my camera with me!
The City of Houghton RV Park is very small, less that 30 sites.
Checking in at the office is standing room only!
This RV park is within walking distance to HARDEES, CULVERS & Walmart! I wonder which one I'll walk to first!?!After dinner & dishes the only place I'm walking is with Lennie & Otis!
The sun is starting to set as we go out with Otis!
Wednesday August 13, 2013 OMG!!!!!! Look what I woke up to this morning!!!!!
This isn't what I was going to show first, but this is what Lennie saw when he first got up! Otis was mad last night cause he couldn't get back to our bed! Guess who had to pick the mess up???? NOT OTIS!!! Now....here's what I woke up to.....
Since Lennie walked to & from the bakery, he needn't feel guilty about eating his pecan roll, but I FELT so guilty, every bite was hard to swallow!(I hope he brings me another one tomorrow!)
This morning we are taking a picnic lunch & taking a picturesque drive around the Keweenaw Peninsula. There are several scenic routes, today we have chosen the Bootjack Road This part of Michigan's UP is called the copper country from it's history of mining By the mid-1800's, mines sprang up all along the peninsula drawing immigrants from across the globe. Today as we drove the Bootjack Road scenic route, we could see the remains of what were once prosperous mining towns. Some small towns still exist, a lot of vacation, summer, or maybe just dream homes are up & down the peninsula. It was an interesting drive.
We keep driving & we come to the small town of GAY, Michigan. The point of interest in the town of Gay is their Bar/Restaurant!
Now if you owned a bar in GAY, Michigan, what would you name the bar!?!
We continue driving! By the way.....I wasn't the only one taking pictures of that Gay Bar sign!?!
Here's the park where we should have had lunch!!
We put Otis inside cause guess where Lennie & I are going!?!
We rode 4 miles. My knees were screaming, but because I had capris on, my knees were covered. Oh I could still hear my knees screaming, but the screams were muffled from my capris so passersby couldn't hear the screams!Lennie said if I do it everyday my knees will stop screaming, h-m-m-m-m????
We have a nice dinner tonight, chicken Marsala. After dinner dishes Otis can't wait for his walk, in fact he demands his walk. But at the end of the walk....he can't wait to get back inside the RV!?!
Day is Done..... |
