We have a loooooong road ahead of us, we're going all the way to Rapid City, South Dakota, 500 some miles....

It shouldn't take us too long to get to S. Dakota, look at the speed limit in Wyoming!
Big change in the scenery!
Finally we make it to Rapid City, South Dakota
& to our RV PARK. WiFi is free, good thing they don't charge for it, it only worked one night for me.....

Our new home for a couple of days!
Guess what!?! We arrived here at Heartland RV Park about 6:00pm. You know what that means, yep....just in time to start dinner. After the drive Len is tired. Otis loses some of his spunk too after a day of traveling. I don't know why, he rides on my lap the whole way!
Just going to relax the rest of the night, only here for a few days so we'll be busy!!!
Saturday July 26, 2014-We're only here for a few days, we have a lot to look at, well as much as we can in the short time we're here!?! We've been here before, a few years ago, so we saw all the tourist attractions from this area at that time. Still it's nice to get a refresher course, after all there are some things worth repeating! We get the ROUTINE things out of the way, including packing our lunch, so we can start the FUN things!First on our agenda is Custer State Park, yest we've been here before, & we enjoyed it.
We entered on Wildlife Loop! We are ready to see some wildlife!!!! Last time we were here we saw 100s of buffalo. We drove the loop & watched for & looked for & never saw ONE SINGLE BUFFALO????? Talk about disappointment! But we did see.....FREE ROAMING DONKEYS!!!They come right up to your car expecting a handout! They are not afraid of people!!!

Otis did NOT like the donkey's head in our car, & gave that donkey holy heck....after I rolled the window back up!!! "You tell 'em Otis!"
When the fun was done.....we drove a little further & lucked out to see more wildlife. Unfortunately these baby deer, they were afraid of people & wouldn't pose for the camera!
Did someone say "PICNIC"!?! It's about time!!!

When we finish our lunch we continue to drive the park, maybe the buffalo will come out of hiding!?!

We've now moved onto the scenic, Needles Highway (engineered by a SWEDE!!!)

There was nothing wrong with our picnic spot, but hey.....how'd we miss this spot!?!
Even Otis likes a picnic with a little class! That's it, our picnics will never be the same again!?!
Now we are going home, but wait....Len had a surprise stop for us......
"Why did I stop here? I hope this doesn't ruin my dinner!?!"IT DIDN'T!!!
