Monday July 7, 2014 Len's out walking, me & Otis are snoozing!!!! Here he comes...there goes Otis out with Len! Time to get up, I feed Otis while Len makes the coffee, not a bad deal! We take our time with breakfast....today we start pre-packing .....tomorrow we leave.We pack up all the outside gear.
Our site is starting to look empty!
A little windshield maintenance so we can see where we're going!!!
All that hard work just wears Otis out!!!
Tonight Lennie & I are going out to eat with my friend Janis! She made 6:00pm reservations for us at a Mexican Restaurant near her apartment.I am soooooo ready for Mexican food! We arrive at Janis' apartment at 5:30pm. she said it was a 15 minute drive to the restaurant.
We arrived at a Mexican Restaurant called Hacienda.It was a 2 story restaurant & they sat us on the 2nd floor.We had a great view of the mountains & what would have been a great sunset except for this HUGE cloud that refused to move out!!!!
Our dinner was just wonderful but I was so engrossed in conversation....I forgot to take pictures!(Senior Moment???)
We said our "Good-byes" & went our separate ways, Janis went home, Lennie & I....well.....first we stopped at McDonalds for Mr. McSpoiled, then back to Mountaindale RV Park!
Tuesday July 8, 2014 This morning we're leaving, we're not going that far so we don't need a early send off! This morning Lennie had a surprise while on his morning walk.....it rained! It was overcast when he left, but before his return.....a good down pour!!!
During breakfast Lennie studies the map! I don't know why, he knows where we're going!?!
While I put things away in the kitchen, Otis waits patiently for Len to get back from the office!
& soon enough we see Len making his way back to the RV!
& we're out of here! Mountaindale RV Park was a nice place to spend a month. I'm going to miss the park scenery, the nightly deer sightings, & Oh yes.....those Saturday night ice cream socials!!!
I think Mountaindale is going to miss us too!
And later that same day.......
We arrived at our next destination Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora, Colorado!
Although we had already purchased our State Park Pass at Cheyenne Mountain State Park, there was some confusion about whether or not we had the right pass??? We barely got set up & Len went to the Park Office to straighten out our pass situation.Not before lunch tho! We couldn't check in till noon, & Lennie timed our arrival to the park just in time for lunch!!!!
When we were leaving Mountaindale RV Park, & Len loaded the bikes, he told me I had a flat tire on my bike! Whaatt???? I haven't even ridden it yet!?! Thinking maybe it was low, he aired it up after we arrived at Cherry Creek Park.It didn't help, he took the tire off, took the tube out & there was a hole big as life, next to the valve stem.....
Lennie got back from the office & we left for Walmart. We only needed a few groceries & a new inner tube!!! Walmart wasn't very far away, not of this took too long. Lennie had my bike tire in the car & put the new tube in my bike in Walmarts parking lot. Back at Cherry Creek Park, I put the groceries away while Lennie aired up my bike!
There....All Better!!!
Time to start dinner, & after dinner & dishes are done....Otis goes on his first walk at the new park! He loves that! New place means all new smells for him!
Since we just arrived this afternoon we haven't really had a chance to check out the park. A walk with Otis will give us the chance to see some of the park. they have a Swimming/Boating lake here at the park, it's within walking distance of our camp site....let's go check that out!
Along our walk I spot masses of thistle, I know they're a weed, but they're still cool looking!
We make it to the lake, & I realize it's not just a lake, it's a beach with sand....I don't want Otis in the sand, cause he thinks he has to get in our bed!

Kids were swimming in the lake, boaters were enjoying the lake, ducks were swimming, we were just waiting for sunset!It's only minutes away from setting!
While waiting for the sun to set....I spied bees (I don't like bees either!) buzzing around these flowers & thought I'd take a chance on a photo opt!
I got it!!!!
Now back to the sunset! I've been missing our sunset scenes!
Back at the RV day is done.....
It was a good day!
Now you'll HAVE to ride that bike!!! LOL I'm surprised you haven't already since you were at Mountaindale for a month. Looking forward to new pics of the new park. Pretty sunset.
ReplyDeleteMuriel~Mountaindale was too mountainous to ride our bikes!!! Riding my bike is a real challenge for me! I think I'm too old & my knees agree!!!
