June 18, 2015-Thursday- Not every day is a blog worthy day & that's what today was, pretty much a day of errands! On our way to run errands, we took a detour to the Elmwood Cemetery! I also saw the headstone of a "Madame" but I'm not sure where she fit into the stats!
Okay let's get these errands out of the way!
                                                First LUNCH!!!
Camping World without Otis....his favorite store!
Walmart for a few groceries, & I got ALL my hair cut off!!(I am wearing earrings now so people know I'm female!)
McDonalds for Otis!!! Because he had to wait at home!!

A McDoubles for my dog please!

                                   Otis....guess what I got you!?!
Oh dad, I love you sooooooo much!!!!
                                                 Play time!

Lennie is outside the RV grilling fish & Otis is looking for him!!!

Tomorrow we are driving into Kansas City about 8 miles away to do a little sight-seeing!!!
June 19, 2015- Saturday-While we've been staying here at Campus RV park, Lennie had made a friend! The guy parked next to us, Dick, is from Tampa, he's about our age too. We never saw his wife, but he's not traveling alone??? This morning Dick went walking with Lennie! When I took Otis out to potty Lennie & Dick were out front talking like two old buddys!!!
I hate to break up their conversation but I want Lennie to come in & get his breakfast out of the way  so we can go sight-seeing!!!We're going to take a Trolley Tour of Kansas City & the trolley only runs 3 times a day.The first run is 10:00am, that's the one we want to catch. The trolley departs from Union Station, we get down there to get our ticket!
The tickets can be purchased inside Union Station, which is more than just a train station, also shops & restaurants. The tickets are available at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!!!
I hope my ticket smells like chocolate!!!!
I know....I look like I need chocolate....
We didn't have too long inside Union Station before meeting the trolley outside.
There's  old pianos all painted up differently all over town. This one was inside Union Station. Anyone who plays is welcome to sit down & play the piano. Even if you don't play, you could still sit at the piano & pretend while you have your picture taken!?!
                                    Here comes our trolley!

This is going to be interesting!!!
When everyone was boarded, & it was a full trolley, our driver introduced herself, & asked where everyone on board was from.
Before we took off, our driver first apologized for all the construction! It seems like the whole world is under construction!?! But Kansas City it seems is going back in time so to speak! They are reinstalling the cable Streetcar lines!
I sat by a window because I wanted to be able to take pictures. Shortly after taking off I realized taking pictures during the tour was going to be an impossible task, so I just listened! Kansas City is known as the City of Fountains & several were pointed out to us.
This one was right outside of Union Station, it was an easy shot to snap!
Our tour guide was very interesting, she seemed to know a lot about Kansas City even tho she born & raised in Rockford, Illinois! She pointed out all the good places to go eat, night life & shopping. She also told us old history about Kansas City, like how Kansas City was never effected by the great depression like other cities during that era because mob corruption kept the city alive & booming!?!
After our trolley tour, we had another sight-seeing stop! The Federal Reserve building, where pictures were allowed except.....the money counting area!!!

At the end of the self guided tour, you could help yourself to one FREE bag of shredded old money! Each bag held approximately $165.00 in shredded bills!
Hey.....with all that money, let's go have lunch!
                                        This is Blues & BBQ
                                                YUM!!!
I think they have more Blues Posters than we do!?!

This restaurant was hosted on Guy Fieri's Drive-Ins, Diners, & Dives!

This is the Women's bathroom! Lennie said the Men's bathroom was wall to wall Blues posters too!
Definitely a good lunch & a fun place to eat! Can't go to Kansas City without having a BBQ!?!

                                          Time to move on!!!
I guess Otis called(remind me to take the cell phone away from that dog!)because we went back to the RV but that didn't end our sightseeing! After dinner,we went by car back to Harry Truman's house, parked, then walked with Otis, on Harry's famous routine walk!

There were soooooo many beautiful old Historical houses on this walk.

I could have taken pictures for blocks, but just snapped some of my favorites.

This is not a historical old home, it's Hary Truman's Library & it was visible on our walk....
It was hard to pick a favorite house, I don't know....this might have been the winner!?!
Now the reason we took the car to the Truman house when earlier I said it was walking distance from the RV Park! After the walk, we continued into Kansas City. We wanted to catch the sunset over the Kansas City skyline!
We drove back to the National World War l Memorial, it'll be the perfect place to view the sunset & skyline!
We saw the memorial during our Trolley tour, but of course, could not get out to take pictures!
                               See....perfect view of the skyline!

Sunset is approaching!

Ahhhhh !

Look who else was up here!
This is all we saw, the Bride, Groom & their photographer, where the rest of the wedding party was....I don't know???  They missed a beautiful setting for wedding pictures????
                                     And now....the day has ended!
