Looks like all we do is eat!?! Wrapping up our "good-byes"

June 9-11, 2015 Well Blog Fans.....here I go again!!!! I worked on my blog last night for 2 hours, things were going great! I was all done, I got to the spellcheck point of the blog, everything is still going great, I'm about to click PUBLISH, when all of a sudden, EVERYTHING was gone???? I don't know what I clicked, but I lost it all. I wanted to cry. By then it was bedtime, couldn't start again, not then, but...here I am, back at the old grind! You may be getting the shortened version of the past days events this time around!?! This happened to me before but I didn't lose everything, just part of it, as I clicked SAVE during part of my blog! Maybe I ought to click save after every other sentence!?! Live & learn!!!!
Tuesday the 9th- We are down to days now before we leave Illinois. We are trying to cram as much into our schedule as we can & the weather will allow! We have never seen soooooo much rain during a month long visit to Illinois before!
Today we're going to take that long drive up to Garden Prairie to take Trinity, Courtney, & Dylan out to a late lunch. Today is Trinity's day off from her job, & it's the last time we'll see Trinity as a graduated senior, when we return in August, she will have already begun her Freshman year at SIU! When we were at Trinity's graduation party, Dylan was all excited about the  bike he was saving his money to buy. He'd researched it on Amazon.com, was pleased that shipping was FREE! He had already saved almost all he needed for the bike.....needless to say we slipped him a few bucks so he was able to buy his bike!!! When we arrived at the kids house, Dylan couldn't wait to show us his new bike!!!!

He took it for a spin to show us his gears & when he pulled back into the driveway, the family dog ran in front of him causing Dylan to lose his balance & fall.....he fell inches from a big mud puddle!!! OMG....we better go get lunch!
Even tho the kids live in Garden Prairie, they wanted to eat in Marengo at the Marengo Cafe. Not a problem, Marengo & Garden Prairie both small towns but....Marengo does have a bit more to offer as far as places to eat!
Courtney told us the family usually stops in at the Marengo Cafe every Sunday after Church & she always gets the same meal, turkey, gravy & mashed potatoes, which she also had this time! I have a habit of eating my favorite every time too, only problem is, I have lots of favorites!!! During our meal I told everyone to save room for dessert, right across the street was one of those frozen yogurt shops!!! They guaranteed me they'd have room for yogurt!!!
                                                         Yum!!!!

When we took them back home, they showed us they had the perfect solution for all the food we just ate!?!

Oh to be young again!!!

Wednesday the 10th-This morning, after our regular morning routine, Lennie washes the RV. I don't know why with all the rain we've been getting, he just likes to leave in a clean coach! I do a small load of laundry while he's washing the RV. Later today we are taking Kevin & Reese out for dinner. Before it is time to go, we have a surprise visit from Leif & Sophie, just in time for lunch!
Otis.....he is not a good host, poor Sophie, cause she just loves to visit!
Leif understood that our visit would be short since we had to drive, this time to St Charles to pick up Kevin & Reese. Leif's main reason for stopping in besides a friendly hello, was to get updated on our plans to attend the Chicago Blues Festival this weekend!
Our dinner plans with Kevin & Reese is Mexican cuisine! When we were in Illinois last year for Brittney's college graduation, Ron was driving us to Texas Roadhouse when we passed this new (to us) Mexican restaurant! We made a mental note that we would like to try it. We didn't make a mental note of the NAME of the restaurant!?!
We picked up Kevin & Reese, still too early to have dinner, we wasted some time at Kohl's & the Goodwill! Now it's time to head out to "that restaurant", I hope it's good! Leaving from St Charles, we're on Rt 59 where traffic is always a nightmare & 59 is always under construction! We're almost in Aurora & still we haven't seen this newish looking restaurant? We have Reese GPS Mexican restaurants on 59 & area, he's not coming up with anything??? We've now reached Fox Valley Mall & still no restaurant? It is possible that the restaurant is no longer in business, but come on....what'd they do with the building!?! Since we never knew the name of the place....it was pretty hard to look it up, we have to give up & chose another restaurant! I really had my taste buds geared up for Mexican cuisine....we pull into the first Mexican restaurant we see!!!                           Oh please be good!!!
None of us had ever eaten here before & happy for all of us.....it was good!!
Good thing this picture was kinda dark cause Reese made his usual silly face! I had to snap another one of him!!!
Whoa....look like Kevin's enjoying his meal!

Kevin gave Lennie his Father's Day gift tonight at the restaurant as we will have left Illinois by Father's Day!
I guess we'll have to do more research on that NAMELESS Mexican restaurant & maybe when we return in August.....we'll try it again!?!
We take Kevin & Reese home & drive back to the country
& to
OTIS.....who is always happy to see us!!!

Thursday the 11th-Today Lennie & I have separate plans! Mine for lunch....his for dinner! I am going to lunch with Chris & Ingrid at Sweet Tomatoes in St Charles! I'm looking forward to this luncheon as I haven't seen Ingrid since she was diagnosed with Guilliane barre syndrome last winter. This syndrome put her in an almost stroke-like condition. Impaired speech, no energy, she couldn't walk on her own, loss of appetite, this was going on  for a good 6 months, maybe longer.....
Lennie drops me off at Chris' place & visits briefly before she & I head up to St Charles.                                        We all enjoy the restaurant Sweet Tomatoes!

It's a great place to eat...sooooo yummy! We ate our lunch at a leisurely pace, enjoying the food & conversation. Although Ingrid has not been released from her Dr's care, she can now function on her own without having to rest after every physical activity.

We say our so longs....Ingrid who lives in Wayne, probably has a 10 minute ride home, unlike us country folks!!! Before we head to the country, we drive through Batavia for old time sake! We drove to our old house. We didn't live there very long, not long enough in my opinion!
734 Walnut Street~Batavia, Illinois
Chris & I sat out in her car in front of the house laughing & reminiscing! While we were sitting there, I saw movement inside the house. Those poor owners were probably wondering what kind of weirdos were sitting out front of their house!?! I was hoping they would come outside to investigate, then they would find out we weren't a couple weirdos, just a couple of sisters reliving their past, & who knows......they may have invited us in!?! Well, that wasn't going to happen so I better snap my pictures before the home owners call "Batavia's finest"!?!
This was our bedroom window!!
Maybe the next time we find ourselves back  in Batavia together, we'll get up the nerve to knock on the door!?! Now we have to drive back to the country, first to Chris' house so she can let Sadie have a potty break!

That upstair window is the very window Otis jumped out of, 5 years ago & survived! Chris is going to take me out to Eric & Nancy's house in Steward where once again Izzy is going to dog sit Otis while Lennie & I attend the Chicago Blues Festival. Otis doesn't know this yet, but he's got to figure there was some reason he had to have a bath this morning!?!
(Lennie is having dinner with Tammy at the Olive Garden but he won't take pictures!)
Otis did not like being left behind, Izzy was busy so I just handed Otis off with Eric! Now that deserved a picture!?!
                                                      See you Sunday Otis!!!!
