Too hot to function!!!!

June 20, 2015-Saturday-Tomorrow is the first day of summer, but today here in Independence, Missouri feels like, maybe the first day in hell???? OMG is it hot & humid! 95 degrees, the heat index making it feel like 105 degrees. The weatherman said there was going to be a wind today making the temperatures tolerable!!!! Where's that wind!?!
We want to go down to the City Market, & decide to do that before it gets too hot! Could it get any hotter!?!
I was surprised how crowded it was, as hot as it was outside! We left Otis home, suffering in the A/C! Good thing we left him home!
It's always fun to walk around here, & we did need some produce!

After our purchase, Lennie gives me a choice in lunch, burrito or hamburger??? That's a tough decision for me!?! I choose the hamburger & we go off to this unique restaurant we learned about on our Trolley tour!
                                 HOW COOL IS THIS PLACE!?!

                                    I want EVERYTHING!!!!!
It's ready Len, go get my food!

OMG! This is gonna be good!
Oh yeah....died & went to heaven!!!
I will have to admit, I left that place in pain!

Before we head back to the RV, we want to drive by another fountain pointed out to us during the Trolley tour, & that's the Vietnam Memorial Fountain.

While we've been out, other than the crowd at City Market, we see very few people out & about! Everyone is at home in the A/C!?! That's where we're going too!
We enjoy the A/C for a couple of hours then decide to brave the heat again! Actually we're going out for a "Cool Treat!"
This is Clinton Drugstore, it's not just any drugstore, it's the drugstore where Harry Truman at 14 years of age, got his first job making $3.00  week!
We went there for phosphates, Lennie got vanilla, I got cream soda!!!
This picture I took out the window from inside the drugstore. There parked is Ralph Goldsmith & his mules. I bet he can't even give those rides away today in this heat. I feel sorry for the mules.

We better go home to our animal! We're going to have BLT's for dinner with our garden fresh tomatoes! Let's hold off for a while, I'm still full from that killer hamburger!!!!
