Picnic at Gunnison------Taking it Easy------

July 1, 2015-Wednesday-Rich & Joan sold their house in Colorado Springs earlier this week!!!!Good thing they'd been using the historic cemetery to get their phone messages! When Lennie & I got up this morning to start our day, the Dumont's had already left to drive into Colorado Springs to take care of some business dealings.Lennie & I both took our morning walk(separately!) but together we took Otis for his morning walk, afterwards I stuck Otis in the Dumont's dog cage. Poor Otis, he looked so humiliated!?!He didn't try to jump out???

After breakfast & showers we are already planning our lunch! while the Dumonts head into Colorado Springs, we plan a picnic in Gunnison, Otis is going with us! Before arriving to our picnic destination, we stop to take pictures of the never ending scenery!

                                                      SNOW!!!!

                                 America the Beautiful for sure!
From Howard to Gunnison was only 65 miles but road construction made this easy drive.....frustrating!!! Seems the whole world is under construction!?!
Just when hungry pangs are hitting us (just kidding!) we reach our picnic destination at the American Legion Park. Great place for a picnic!

Somebody was really talented!
We finished lunch & continued our scenic drive to Crested Butte.

It was a fun historic town to walk around in....

&......they had
an ice cream shop!
Because we had Otis with us, we had to go in separately to get our ice cream! I thought Lennie was going to start crying when he got his wallet out to pay!?!
We see the afternoon storm clouds starting to build up, we better head back to Howard, but first we catch a few more scenic shots!

Living the dream in Crested Butte, Colorado!?!
Crested Butte is known as the Wildflower Capital of Colorado

Too bad that just a few miles down this scenic highway lies the dreaded ROAD CONSTRUCTION!!!

Okay....let's just get home!
July 2, 2015-Thursday- Not every day is full of fun or blog worthy adventures! Some days are just for relaxing & that's what today is!?!
This morning I make my walk to the cemetery to check for phone or text messages! As I approach the cemetery, a pick up truck has parked at the gate, a man is opening the gate. He tells me he is on the cemetery board of directors. I tell him I'm not there to disturb anything I am just there to use the cellphone reception!?! He laughs then go on to tell me a van of prisoners & their guard are on the way to the cemetery to mow! Good, maybe tomorrow I'll have even better reception, there is a lot of over growth here!  I check my phone real quick as I don't want to be standing here when the van arrives!?! Sure enough on my way back to the RV Park, the official white van passes me. Those guys have their work cut out for them! When I get back to the RV Lennie & Otis are already in RELAX MODE!!!

Looks like Lennie & Otis aren't the only ones relaxing! I get my knitting needles out....maybe I'll finally finish this scarf I've been working on!
While we were sitting outside having our lunch,
we saw the white van of prisoners drive by. I can't wait to see the cemetery tomorrow!
It's nice to have a lazy do nothing day once in awhile!
So far Cowboy Bob hasn't put anyone down in the bottom spot, he hasn't even filled our ruts in yet! He's really letting that site dry out good!

Hey you guys.....wait for me!
.
Sunset is starting!
.
.

Not sure what's in store for tomorrow.....maybe another lazy day!?!

Even the "LAZY DAYS" are hard on Lennie!?!
