July 27, 2015-Monday-Today promises to be real hot, we're going to take a ride up into the mountain town of Breckenridge. It's definitely a ski town among other snow activities, it also has some shops to poke around in, but mostly it is DOG Friendly! Otis is happy about that, he reminds me he didn't get a bath & a haircut for nothing!?!If everyone is ready....let's go! We don't have to pack a lunch today....we know of a dog friendly restaurant where Otis can join us on the patio!
"Thanks for bring me along mom!"
We stopped to view the beautiful cascading creek along side of the road!
Is he.......??? Yes he is!!!
We have definitely seen our share of scenery!
Now in Breckenridge, we're ready for lunch, at least Otis is!Otis may look insulted but he's really happy! The waiter brought him his own water bowl, I fed him the bacon off my guacamole burger & Len fed his some chicken. He did alright!!!!
Otis rather stay at the restaurant, he's not into shopping much!
Definitely a town with a view!
Otis didn't pay attention to these horses still one of them stomped their hoof, then Otis went into "ON GUARD" mode!!!!
It was fun walking around & eating in Breckenridge. We see rain clouds off the mountains, time to head back & try & beat the rain. Didn't realize how similar Colorado was to Florida during the rainy season!
On our ride back from Breckenridge, we stopped for another scenic photo shot!
This was a sad sight, & we thought we had it bad when we were stuck in the mud bog over in Howard!!!
The temperature while we were in Breckenridge was 69 degrees. When we got back to Aurora & Cherry Creek, the temperature was 93 degrees!!!! Big difference! It cools off real nice in the evenings just about walking time for Otis!!!
Some of our loafing included bike riding around the park.....
A distant view of Denver from the bike path. I don't know why the mountains look hazy, they look hazy every day? Maybe it's because marijuana is legal in Colorado!?!
We stopped to check out the fishing lake. This is a big state park. They have a separate swimming lake, & miles & miles of bike riding paths.
Another day of bike riding took us back over the bike path (you see something different every day!)
Len "patiently" waiting for me???Len can out ride me all day long, but there are lots of SPANDEX wearing bikers out here on these paths that pass us both up going lickity splits!
My favorite part of the bike ride....a rest break!
While taking a break, I spotted this Assisted Living Facility Bus. It brought back memories of my working days!
These lucky patients were having a picnic at the lake!(I remember going on some pretty nice outings too!)
What better place for a picnic spot!!!If only I were 20 years younger....who am I kidding, I'd have to be 40 years younger to try that!!!
This is more my speed!
Some of our loafing included picnics.....
Our first picnic at our site!
But not our last....
On this day I made chicken salad sandwiches.....Otis really enjoyed this picnic
A picnic at City Park during a ride to Denver...
This was a real nice park, size wise it was huge, but the picnic area was limited????We didn't stop & get Otis a McDoubles cause he's spoiled, we got him one cause we ran out of lunch meat, & he always gets one piece of lunch meat on a picnic. Okay....maybe he is spoiled!
"Come on dad I'm waiting for my McDouble burger!!!!"
The name of this park was CITY PARK, but it should have been named GOOSE PARK, they were EVERYWHERE & so was their POOP!!!
Some of our loafing included shopping.....Shopping isn't relaxing, but shopping is a necessary evil!?! NO SHOPPING PICTURES!!! Unless we're Thrift Shopping!!! I like that. I did buy 2 more T-shirts, I hope to get that Tshirt scarf figured out!We don't take Otis shopping, lucky dog!
You have to look close....this is Otis peeking out the front window after our return trip from the grocery store!!!!
Some of our loafing included beautiful sunset pictures from the park!
Another night.....we were walking Otis just at sunset, Lennie went back & got the car & we drove down to the lake to finish watching it set.....
What can I say.....the pictures says it all......
Some of our loafing is just enjoying the scenery around us....
Caught this sight this morning right from the RV door! A Magpie kept landing on this deer's back, he didn't like it either!?!
I can't imagine those Thistles tasting good???
Some of our loafing is REAL LOAFING!
Whatever Lennie caught, looks like Otis caught it too!?! With all this "LOAFING" going on, I take advantage & get caught up on my Travel Blog!
Otis got a little loafing in too!
This is a nightly ritual for him! He waits back on the bed for me to bring him his night time treat! Did I mention Otis might be spoiled!?!
Okay....enough loafing, tomorrow we're doing SOMETHING!?!
I had already published this blog posting & had to update it because while Lennie was grilling our fish for dinner, our deer friend came back for a dinner of more thistles!!! Of course I don't know if it was the same deer!?!
Zoom in, you will see a deer out there!"Is that fish I smell on the grill? Beats thistles!!!"
"HEY..... what's going on out there???? I thought you said it was dinner time?"
(Tomorrow Otis is NOT going with us!)
Very pretty colorado views. I like your little solar light on patio. Looks like a mini lighthouse!! Love all the gorgeous hanging flower pots in Breckenridge. My favorite pic is that of the creek with the pine boughs hanging in the foreground. Pretty sunset at the beach too. Will you be fishing at this park? I've been going to our local pond several times a week in the evenings. Gets me out of the house and it's usually a nice breeze there. Only catch babies tho...but better than nothing.
ReplyDeleteI had to Update that last blog posting!!! That's not a solar light on the table that looks like a little light house, it's Lennie's outdoor speaker! yes we plan to fish here, pictures later, I hope we have something to take a picture of!!!!
DeleteI looked up your park and it had some nice photos of it. Nice big sites. Must feel awesome after that last place you were all jammed in. Good place to take a slower pace and relax for awhile. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI was speaking of the little solar light on the ground on corner of rug with a red/white stem. At least it looks like a solar light!!! The red/white reminds me of the color of some lighthouses!!! That was such a good close up of the deer. He looks so velvety you can almost reach out and pat him in the photo. Nice and clear.
