August 5, 2015-Wednesday- After we spent 3 weeks with our RV friends, Rich & Joan in Howard, Colorado at Bandera's RV Park, Lennie & I moved on to Pikes Peak RV Park in Manitou Springs, Colorado for a week before moving to our site now at Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora, Colorado.Rich & Joan moved to Pikes Peak RV Park the day we left! We are now about an hour apart from each other's RV Parks!We contacted Rich & Joan last week to see if they'd be available( they're packing up their home in Colorado Springs) to meet somewhere halfway for lunch. Since they're the ones busy working we let them pick the day & today's the day!!!! We are going to meet in Castle Rock which is about a halfway drive for the both of us.
Here we go, heading South on I-225
There's Castle Rock, lunch is right around the corner!
None of us have ever been to Castle Rock before, let alone Guadalajara Restaurant, but through research....this Restaurant had a good rating, we all agreed to give it a try!
The food was good, they had a pretty good lunch crowd in there yet s we continued to talk after our plates were cleared, nobody pushed us to leave! It was fun seeing the Dumont's again. This time we didn't say "GOOD-BYE" to them, we said...."SEE YOU LATER"!!!!
We left the Dumont's & headed back to Aurora, we had an errand to take care of, stocking up on a few things at SAM'S CLUB. Guess what we saw on the same road as Sam's Club??? A GUADALAJARA Restaurant! I guess they're a chain restaurant! Even so, the one in Aurora would have been a great location for us, but too far for Rich & Joan to drive!
After our big lunch.....dinner didn't seem too appealing, till Lennie had a good idea.....BLT'S for dinner! I like that, good, quick & easy!!!
After dinner Lennie had another good idea! Let's take a drive to see sunset at Washington Park & then have ice cream at the shop close to the park!?! That man is full of great ideas!!!
Dad....how come we can't have ice cream first? Just wait Otis, this is going to be worth the wait....just wait & see!
See.....definitely worth the wait!Now.....about that ice cream!!!

July 6, 2015-Thursday- You know what today is??? Today is NATIONAL ROOT BEER FLOAT DAY!!!! In honor of this grand occasion, A&W Root Beer is giving away FREE Root Beer Floats from 2:00pm-Close! Nothing beats a Root Beer Float except a FREE Root Beer Float!!!
Today is another warm day, a Root Beer Float is going to be a welcome relief & in the meantime we're not really doing anything, just kind of hanging out in the A/C!!!
We finally get lunch out of the way & that Root Beer Float is getting closer!

Our A&W was one of those KFC A&W combined. We didn't see any signs advertising the FREE Root Beer Float, sooooo we just drove through the Drive-thu hoping for the best!?!

This was some entertaining activity on the water. She would throw a tennis ball out in the water...
"Dad....did you see that silly dog chase after that ball in the water!?!"
On the short ride back to our RV site, I asked Lennie if he wanted to go back to the A&W & get another FREE Root Beer Float! He didn't.....
I forgot about root beer float day.😭
