Preparing tp leave.....Good-bye Cherry Creek State Park~Hello St Vrain State Park!

August 7, 2015- Friday- This is the day I'm not real crazy about! It's the day we start preparing to leave for our next destination. I don't like it because it's the cleaning, & putting all the outside stuff away....I shouldn't really complain because Lennie does more than most the work!?! I wasn't really going to post anything today, as today was not really a blog-worthy day, but....we saw our last sunset here at Cherry Creek & it was definitely blog-worthy!!!
After our "chores" we went for a little drive! There were a couple of Goodwill stores I wanted to go to....I finally finished my "practice" T-shirt scarf, I'm not sure if I will make anymore, depends on what people say when they see the "practice scarf", but I still wanted to look for old T-shirts just in case!?!
Our driving around also included lunch, a big burger, but you've seen enough eating pictures, actually I forgot my camera in the car!!!
Before heading back to Cherry Creek State Park, we swung by the Governor's Mansion in Denver.
                                           Not too Shabby!!!!

The rest of the day, we did the usual when it's sooooo warm out!
                                      Some of us watched TV
Some of us took a nap!(Lennie has no business having the camera!)

After dinner, it's nice & cool out! Just in time for Otis' walk.We see the sun starting to set, we can tell it's going to be a good one!

                                         Waiting on sunset!

Here it comes!
aaaaaah!

So Beautiful!
Good thing we didn't miss this!
August 8, 2015-Saturday- Today we leave Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora, Colorado, but we are not leaving Colorado just yet! Our destination today is St. Vrain State Park in Firestone, Colorado. St Vrain State Park is only about an hour away, we're in no hurry to take off. Check-in time there is noon, we'll leave here about 11:00am.
Otis can sense "something" is up so he takes HIS seat! We're not ready to leave yet....we still have some outside things to do.
The tire monitor kept beeping, Len found a low tire.....

Otis isn't much help there, but he is pretty good at supervising!

Now we're ready for take-off!
We jump right into that constant traffic!
Oh Look!!!! There's where the Denver Broncos play football!!!!
Since our  destination, St Vrain State Park in Firestone, Colorado is just an hour's drive, we'll be out of this traffic soon!
See....there it is! St Vrain State Park!!!
We have reservations, check-in will be  breeze!
All set up! Each site has their own private shade cabana!
                                     & our own fishing pond!!!
After lunch, (we always arrive at a destination in time to eat a meal?) we take Otis for a walk, Otis didn't want to be in the picture!?! He loves going to new RV Parks, he can start his exploring all over again! His nose is constantly to the ground. That's why he's not in the picture, he's just out of photo range sniffing!!!
Too bad Len is lost in the shadows, but I was trying to capture the clouds reflecting in the fishing pond!

It's pretty warm out, let's take it easy till dinner time!
Lennie had read that St Vrain was known for their sunsets! Not too long after dinner we saw this to be true!

The above photos I took while we were out with Otis, just outside of the RV.
I put Otis back inside & we jumped on our bikes to catch another view of the sun setting!

                                   Looks good from each view!

Wow & this was just our first night of sunsets!!! There'll be more sunsets & more pictures!!!
