An EATING DAY in Denver------Cherry Creek & surroundings-----A unique ice cream shop!

July 31, 2015-Friday-Today was a fun day & I couldn't wait to get the pictures downloaded then uploaded & that's when I discovered a picture tragedy for me!!!!(There should be tears right here....)We didn't have breakfast at home, Len made us coffee to go, we're taking that short car ride into Denver to Colfax Street to the fun & famous VooDoo Donuts! Good thing we've been here before....this is where the picture tragedy comes in.....I don't know what happened to the pictures I took of us enjoying our donut!?! Can you picture this in your mind.....being here before I had my favorite a raspberry filled yeast donut in the shape & decorated Voo Doo doll, right down to the skinny pretzel stake in his heart! It was soooooo yummy! Len, he had his old stand by too, an over sized Apple Fritter! I hope the Voo Doo donuts were the only pictures I lost because now we're heading to downtown Denver.....
                                       Definitely Downtown!
We're at 16th Street Mall. A mile long strip of shops, stores, businesses &.....restaurants!
It's quite warm today, good thing they have a FREE Ride!!!
But so far we're walking. I guess we're walking our donuts off???
Len wants to check out Union Station. good, I bet it's A/C
It is! It is really nice inside, a good place to sit & enjoy our favorite hobby.....PEOPLE WATCHING!!!
One of the shops inside Union Station caught my eye. I had to go inside & see if I could figure out what a GEWGAW is? I still don't know!?!

                  We continue walking!!!

I told you it was quite warm out!

Oh to be a kid again!!!!

Still walking, we're going to walk over this bridge designed to look like a ships mast....

                                       The view from the bridge!
                                   Finally....the FREE bus ride!
& we rode it right to lunch!
This brick oven pizza place had very high ratings, it only had outside seating, but it was shaded & we had a nice breeze!
The Pizza was real good & we had enough left over for tonight's dinner. Pizza 2 times in one day??? Sure, what's wrong with that, especially if it's a good pizza!

Okay.....we did NOT go from pizza straight to cup cakes! No we walked around, went into a few stores & then eventually wound up at the little Cup Cake Shop!

The shopkeeper asked me if I wanted the cup cakes for now or to take home for later??? What a silly question!!!!

                               Yummmmm, I chose RED Velvet!
See that sad look.....see my last bite!?!

On our  WALK back to the parking garage, I snap a picture of the Capital building

                                            & City Hall

We went back to the RV Park where Otis greeted us, while looking for a treat! He doesn't like pizza, when dinner time came there was no begging from Otis!
I go out with Len on Otis' last potty break because tonight is not just a Full Moon, it's the....

                                              BLUE MOON!

Good Night All!
August 1, 2015-Saturday-Oh look, another new month has started! I'm not happy with how fast the days are clicking by. Lennie reminded me our travel season is now half over! How did that happen!?!
During some research Lennie learned that Cherry Creek boast the largest Farmer's Market with lots of samples to taste! Guess where we're going this morning!?! Double duty tho, we're also packing a picnic lunch & heading to Washington Park! Here we go!!!
The Farmer's Market was held in the parking lot of Cherry Creek Shopping Mall!
Lennie & Otis (always!) take the lead.....
Otis doesn't like it when another dog wants to GREET him in that "doggie way"!?!
It was a pretty good size Farmer's Market & in spite of the samples we tried....we didn't find anything that we just had to have....
Let's go on our picnic!
Washington Park is a real nice park, huge, but again it has very limited picnic areas. Well not really, it has limited picnic tables, you can throw a picnic blanket down anywhere & enjoy your picnic, but.....you have to be careful where you throw your picnic blanket down.....once again, the Geese were EVERYWHERE...........
                                           As well as their poop......
We drove around & around the park & finally I spotted not only a picnic table, but one in the shade! Otis & I jumped out to snag the table while Lennie went to park. Parking spaces were a premium too!
There were several empty tables where I sat, it was a nice little picnic area, had a brick fireplace grill, we didn't need any of the amenities,we just wanted a table in the shade to eat our lunch. Lennie had barely joined us when a lady approached  us & said...."Just so you know I have this little area rented for a NOON graduation party!" I looked at my watch 11:20pm, I looked around, didn't see any other tables so I jokingly said to her, "That's okay, it's just the 2 of us, we won't take up much space". She didn't know what to say  but finally said,"Well I'm going to be decorating the area....." Again I just looked at her & said, "We won't have a problem with your color choices" I know by now the lady probably feared she would have to get  Park Security to get us to move.....?  Do we gobble down our lunch or just move on!?! We knew the lady wanted us to leave immediately, there wasn't another table in the shade, but we saw some shade, which is where we moved to.
No body's using these tables, no shade & it's WARM today!
                                      We can make this work.
Looks like we're going to have a little entertainment while we eat!

I kept throwing the squirrel bread.
Otis thought he'd trying that same begging tactic....it didn't work!
By now my "new best friend" had red & white plastic tablecloths on the tables & was working on the balloons. Guess what we have back in our RV??? A portable 4 seat folding picnic table!!!! Guess what's going in our car as soon as we get back to Cherry Creek State Park??? Yep...you're right!

Now we have some down time till dinner, the picnic table is now in the back of our car, as well as our picnic blanket! For dinner, Lennie is going to put some burgers on the grill!
                                                      Otis helps!

We take Otis for his walk as the sun is starting to set. I LOVE the way the sun rays shine through the clouds.....

At bedtime I go out camera in hand, it's no longer the Blue Moon, it's not even a complete full moon any more, but it's still cool!!!

August 2, 2015-Sunday-Today was a genuine loafing day, Lennie was watching the race, I was working on the blog....for today I wasn't going to post anything but then......thanks to Lennie's research.....he knew of a unique place to go for an ice cream treat! We had to go fairly early as to not ruin our dinner!
If it wasn't for this ice cream place called Little Man Ice Cream, there'd be no posting for today! So tell me..... what you think of the place!?!

When Lennie did his research it stated be prepared for long lines, we were pleasantly surprised the line wasn't tooooo long!
Then the line started to grow behind us!!!
Finally....I'm receiving my order double dip in a waffle cone!
This is the line as we're eating our ice cream &.....it started raining while we were eating our cones. The rain didn't shorten the line!

That's our fun for today, the rest of the day was just too ordinary!!!
