Sunday Flea Market

August 9, 2015-Sunday- On last night's news they had a segment on Seniors checking off a "have to do" on their bucket list. It was a HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE!!! Funny cause when I turned 60, a Hot Air balloon Ride was the ONLY thing I wanted for my birthday & didn't get it!!!! I wonder if I should try again this November for my 65th birthday!?! In the news segment, they showed 4 seniors going up in the balloon. The youngest was a man 72, the oldest was a 97 year old lady!!! Her daughter was a spectator & was sooooooo excited for her mother!!! I think I would still like to feel that sensation!
This morning as Lennie was returning from his walk & I was about to begin mine.....! he called me to come out of the RV real quick with my camera???? I knew it was too late for sunrise, I wondered what he saw that was camera-worthy???
OOOOH!!! "MY" Hot Air Balloon off in the distance!?!
Then I saw there was more than one balloon!

I started on my walk. This was going to be easy! There are at least 4-5 fishing ponds in here at St Vrain's State Park, & each pond has a walking path around it. Last night Lennie & I rodes our bikes around the fishing ponds & today I figure I will walk the same path!
I start out walking, checking out the park's scenery,
at the same time keeping my eye out on the hot air balloons!
They look so cool with the mountains in the backdrop!

After I took this picture....somehow I turned off the path & found myself in a parking lot, then on a road & then by a residence??? I knew this wasn't part of the park & I knew I was LOST??? I turned around to retrace my steps. I remembered from the bike ride, I had to be on a path only, no road or parking lot. Now I see a Park Ranger...do I tell him I'm lost & ask him how to get back to the park???? HECK NOOOOO!!! I made it back to the path I had turned off & soon I see our RV &  I relax!!! I won't make that mistake again!!!
It's quite warm today, we're going to leave Otis by himself to suffer in the  comforts of the RV's A/C while we go walk around the Mile High Flea Market!!! Funny Otis didn't act like he wanted to go with us. Sometimes I think he's smarter than we are!?!

This is probably the biggest Flea Market I've ever seen, 80 acres!!!! It was like a little city!

I'll have to admit it was almost too warm to walk around looking at "FLEAS"!!! There were no inside A/C shops???? This Fleas market would be more fun when the temps drop a little. All that stuff & we didn't buy anything!!!
Otis was the only one who got a treat today, & he wasn't even suffering in the heat! Sometimes I wish I was Otis!!!
Oh wait.....I did get a TREAT! Lennie put pork chops on the grill!
After dinner & dishes done, we tried our luck fishing again, & tho we didn't catch any fish.....
I did CATCH this rainbow in the sky.....

I did CATCH this little boy who so proudly held his catch, he caught a FROG using a FROG LURE!?!

& lastly I did CATCH this beautiful sunset!!!!

All in all, it was a good day with a beautiful ending!

  1. I do like that shade thing over the picnic table. And I like Lennie's fishing post, but the pond looks alittle weedy. I'd be losing all my gear LOL. Very pretty rainbow and sunsets.
