Mt Evans, another day of scenery, another day of too many pictures!!!

August 13, 2015-Thursday- Today we have another scenic drive in mind! Today's drive is to Mt Evans!!!! The road up has been closed for a while due too construction but we learned it's open now!!

We decided to waste some time before making the drive up, we weren't sure if there'd be picnic areas or not. We walked around the old town of Idaho Springs & had our lunch just in case!

                                                                              

                                                      Okay enough shops, time to go eat!

                          The road to road to Mt Evans is the highest paved road in the US

We had to share the road with many bikers. I don't know what they're thinking pedaling 

ALL THE WAY UP THERE!?!

                                                         Oh Boy.....it's cold up here!!!

                                                 The scenery was just AWESOME!!!!

                                                             Got smart & put my jacket on!!!

    You REALLY could!!!! We could have hiked a little higher but....the altitude really gets to me......

              At one time, this was a restaurant on top of Mt Evans till it was destroyed by fire.

               This fella was hanging outside of the restaurant. Maybe wanting a bite to eat!?!

                            We spotted these goats on our way back down! I was so excited!!!

                                              It was our lucky day for WILD LIFE!!!!

              My eyes must be full by now, we have seen sooooo much beautiful scenery!!!!



Tonight after dinner, instead of just taking Otis for a walk......we take him fishing with us!!!

                     The sun is starting to set, I'm using my camera more than I am my pole!!!!

             Tonight I don't care if I catch a fish, I have caught such a beautiful sunset!

Tho a fish would be nice too! It didn't happen tonight, maybe another night!?!
