Wednesday June 22, 2016- Today we leave Hi-Tide in Leland & head up the country roads to Garden Prairie to visit with the Williams' kids a few day before we leave Illinois. When we come to Illinois, we stay at Hi-Tide, not that it's the most convenience......we put LOTS of miles on our car while visiting! It's so far between kids & grandkids, & as it was, this trip we didn't even visit any friends???? It came as no surprise that it rained during the night! It has rained sooooo much during our stay at Hi-Tide. Not a big deal, we're not going that far, we'll wait for a clearing in the rain!I'm going to follow behind Len as we're stopping for fuel, where we'll connect & finish the drive!

But here we are, we made it to the campgrounds in Garden Prairie! I THINK the sun may be coming out!!!
This was a pretty good size campground, a lot of seasonal campers, we were in a section pretty much to ourselves!
I voted this seasonal camper having the best campsite!
Thursday June 23, 2016-Today our plans were to have hot dogs on the grill, have the kids over to eat & let them enjoy the facilities here but......Guess What???? YEP......it's raining!!!! We just can't get away from the rain!!!! I called Stacy & explained due to the weather.....we'd just take the kids to lunch & a movie or whatever. Trinity doesn't get off from work till 4:00pm, the weather will either be improved or worse by then!!!Stacy & Guy live about 5 minutes by car to the campgrounds, we drove over there about 11:00am to carry out our plans! Courtney has a lot of health issues (& a boyfriend!) so we weren't sure if she'd be joining us or not.....
Courtney & Dylan chose Steak N Shake as their lunch choice!
On the ride from their house to Steak N Shake, mind you the kids live in a very small town, there's NOTHING happening there!!!! We had to drive to Belvidere which isn't far, that is the closest "Big Town" to them!!!!Anyhow....on the ride to Belvidere, Stacy called Courtney to tell us we were invited to their house for dinner of MEATLOAF, my favorite!!!! We did take Dylan to a movie, Courtney had her boyfriend come pick her up! We can't compete with a boyfriend!!!! After the movie, we went back to the campgrounds with Dylan to feed & potty Otis before going over to Guy & Stacy's for dinner.
Meet "LUCY" this is the Biology Classroom pet! The teacher offered extra credit to the student who took Lucy home for the summer! At first Guy & Stacy said they didn't want a summer guest....Courtney obviously convinced them!!!
Dinner was good! Guy made the meatloaf, I had 2 pieces but wanted more!!!
