Sunday May 12, 2016- What a difference a day makes!!!! After 2 days of 90 degree weather, today is only in the 70's with a breeze! today would have been the perfect day weather-wise to go into Chicago for the Blues Fest but....2 days of back & forth on the train is enough!!! Today......we go for a bike ride!
We drove to the park on route 25, at the Oswego end of the Fox River. Part of me was wishing I had long sleeves on! We better start pedaling before I change my mind!
If you look close, you can see a lone fisherman out on the Fox River......
It's a nice ride along the Fox River.
Looks like we're back in Florida, maybe this crane like us, left the Florida heat for the summer!?!
WOW!!!! Fancy this! Our bike ride ended up at the Mexican Ice cream shop on Prairie Street!!!
I guess we've pedaled enough to earn a treat!!!
After ice cream, we headed back to our car but taking a different bike path. This path took us through Montgomery & right in front of the gate where Western Electric once stood. Only if you worked there would you recognize this as the old Western Electric entrance. Lennie & his mom both put time in at Western Electric!
Right before I took these pictures at Western Electric, I had run over a thin curly piece of wire. Soon as I pulled the wire out of my tire I could hear air escaping so I knew I was going to have a flat tire!😓 Lennie said we better head back to the car before I had to walk back!!!
On the ride back Lennie spotted these "BIRD CONDOS" Pretty Cool!!!
Nothing to do now but go home, we should stop for a inner tube.....I'm going to need one!!!
Monday June 14, 2016- This morning we will spring Otis from "JAIL"!!! We first stop at the bakery in Somonauk to get us a breakfast yummy! We won't eat it till we get Otis, Lennie doesn't want the poor poor boy to have to wait any longer than necessary!!!!
A ride in out in the country? Sort of, we're off to get Otis!
Here we are, I listen to see if I can hear Otis crying!
It's not as big as the last place Joanne had.
Here come Otis, released from his "CELL" Lennie wants to be the first person Otis see!
"Come on dad....get me out of here!"
"What's taking Mom soooooo long, I wanna leave,
NOW!!!!"
"AAAAAAH, back in my own bed!!!!"
After we brought Otis home, had our breakfast yummy & Lennie spoiled Otis for awhile, he then left to go get the inner tube, my bike definitely had a flat tire!
Lana stopped by for a short visit on her way home from work. I had been working on the Minnie Mouse knit hat before she came by, I had already finished the Mickey Mouse hat!
Ta-da! After dinner I finished the Minnie Mouse hat!!!
Our time here is running short! That only means a new adventure will be starting!?!
