Wednesday June 29, 2016- This morning we leave Wisconsin State RV Park in West Allis, Wisconsin. Our destination today is The Stop & Dock Marina & RV Park in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. It's only a distance of about 90 miles or so. For that reason, our take off this morning is not quite the same as our usual take offs! Lennie did take his regular 4 mile morning walk while Otis & I snuggled in the bed. I learned that his walk took him past a bakery & this morning he surprised me with a bakery goodie!!!
No pastry for Otis just his morning.....dog food!
Yesterday while walking around the German section of town, Lennie mosied into a meat store. This morning before we leave, we drive back to the meat store for sausage & cheese!
Otis & I wait patiently in the car while Lennie goes to make his purchase.
Now it's time to head out!
Here we go.....We drive by the front of the Brewer's Stadium
We're not in a big hurry, so we're going to get of the interstate & take a scenic back road
Good cause I like the country scenery!
We can never get away from road construction!
"Are we almost there mom?"
Yes we are....we're in town now!
Lake Michigan
The bike path along Lake Michigan, I think we will meet that bike path personally later!!
The town of Two Rivers, Wisconsin!
We have arrived at Stop & Dock Marina & RV Park
We wait while Lennie checks in.....
Not fishing off of that dock....
Or that one either!?!
After we picked our site, & set up.....Lennie thought there was a problem with the electrical outlet. He went up to get the owner of the RV Park.
I think they got everything all figured out!?!
This is our view from the front window!
Lennie calls himself "helping"!!!!
Later in the evening, we were walking Otis, this little bird was just hopping around. He seemed to have a problem with his tail feathers?
He looked okay till he tried to fly, & then he couldn't get off the ground.....
We kept waiting for this!!!
What a way to end our day!!!
Of course Otis joins us!
That dog is soooooooo spoiled!
I want my own dog!!!!
If Lennie could figure out a way to haul Otis on the bikes....Otis would be with us!
We are not taking the beach bike path today, we have just parked at the beach parking. We'll ride this beach path later!
Two Rivers water tower.
Okay....THIS is the bike path we're going to ride. It's a mile from where we parked & then a 5 mile bike ride.
Sights we see as we pedal! He was always ahead of me!
OMG!!!! NOT a sign I wanted to see!
This old cabin was built in 1929
He's waiting for me to catch-up!!!!
WE made it!!!!There was Lake Michigan in all it's glory!
This family came to enjoy the beach & the first thing they discovered, IT'S COLD, of course it is, it's Lake Michigan!!!!
Our reward for the first half of our bike ride was a scoop of yogurt! Now we head back!!!!
When we get to this old cabin, I guessed it to be our half way point? When we got to that STEEP HILL sign....I chose to walk my bike! I could see no reason to torture my knees any more than necessary!?! Heck at this point I was ready to toss my bike aside & call a cab home!
AAAAAH!!! Finally!!!! Now we just have that mile ride back to the parking lot!!!Lennie's still waiting for me!
He was so far ahead of me, he already had his bike loaded on the car by the time I reached the parking lot! I'm not sure I want to go riding on that beach bike path!!!
Oh boy.....home sweet home!Otis was giving someone or something heck!?!
We haven't seen that crippled bird anymore. I hope something didn't get it.....
For dinner we were going to put chicken on the grill but....rain at dinner time changed our plans! I put the chicken in the little oven. The rain also ruined any chance of a sunset tonight....🌂🍗☔
I haven's posted anything lately but want to tell you how much I am enjoying your travel story. You have a real knack for relating your adventures. You are far more physical than I am, my body says it can't perform the tasks that you do no matter how enjoyable. Also no matter that there is ice cream and yogurt as an incentive. Oh well, I try and stay as mobile as I can which isn't saying much. Glad you both can still enjoy
ReplyDeleteexploring on foot and by bike. Kudos to you and continue to enjoy your trip. Can't wait for our adventure to get started. Won't be too long now and FL is so hot and humid. Not usually here this time of year and it is torture. The fall weather is appealing to me already. Bring on the colored leaves. Continue on your journey safely and will catch up to you on the road......
By the way I hope you know it is Betty Sue replying to your travel log not Fred. Don't know how this happened but as long as you get the messages I am satisfied. Hugs to Lennie and Otis.
ReplyDeleteHey Betty! Yes I know it's you replying, I can tell it's you by your ice cream remarks & wait till you see where we go tomorrow after another strenuous bike ride!!!!
DeleteGo ahead make me envious...Just wait, I will have to find some over the top places that will make you so jealous....Wait till we hit the road...I look every day for more news from you guys...So interesting and so many neat photos, just leave the ice cream ones OUT.....
