May 23-June 24, 2016~Our visit in Illinois~Memorial Day Bike Ride~Visiting Chris~

Monday May 30, 2016- Today......Memorial Day, while everybody else is out celebrating Memorial Day with their families, barbecuing or whatever.....we plan to go on a bike ride with Leif! Our bike rack can only hold 2 bikes, Leif has a suburban he can throw his bike in the back of, so we'll meet in North Aurora at Harner's Restaurant & maybe have lunch before we pedal down the path!?!
Much to our disappointment, Harner's was closed! They were probably celebrating Memorial day with their families!
We're riding the same bike path we usually take. From North Aurora to Batavia, we're riding besides Route 31 along the Fox River. It's a real nice day!!!! NO RAIN!!!!

We don't need a rest! It's an easy bike ride less than 4 miles. I needed to stop to take a picture!

We arrive at Pal Joey's, not a bad place for lunch, the view is the best. We've eaten here before. When I lived in Batavia in the 60's this was NOT a restaurant, it was the location of a foundry!

Lunch was good, but......it took a long time for it to arrive to our tables. In fact we waited so long, we'd already decided to leave when our lunch finally arrived!

We head back to North Aurora. We had planned to bike to Geneva, because there's a Yogurt shop there!!!! It took so long for our lunch to arrive we had to forget about Yogurt, we both had dogs waiting at home for us!
                                                               "It's a Family Affair"!!!
Riding back to North Aurora, this time we are riding on the Route 25 side.

AAAAH!!!!! The North Aurora Dam, our starting point......
& ending!

Load 'em up!

It was nice it didn't rain today, I almost found myself ready to complain that it was too hot! I was really thirsty after that bike ride. Actually I was thinking how good a Root Beer Float would taste! It was a fleeting thought! We drove back to the campgrounds to a happy to see us dog!!!
The Memorial Holiday is over, all the holiday weekend campers are gone. By tomorrow we'll have the campground back to ourselves again!
Looks like that bike ride was a little rough on "someone"!?!
Wednesday June 1, 2016-I think it rained ALL DAY yesterday!!!! We have had sooooo much rain while we've been here!Yesterday we had some errands to run, which we did, even in the pour down rain! Today after lunch we're going to go over & visit Chris for awhile. She was on vacation this week, I bet she wanted to get busy in her yard, but all the rain we've been having!!!!
When we arrive at Chris' house.....Chris is out in her yard, & so is Sadie!!! Otis is freaking out in the car! Otis does NOT get along with Sadie or any other black lab, let's be honest here, Otis isn't real crazy about any big dog! We decide to leave Otis in the car for a bit, kind of like an attitude adjustment! We go inside!
Sadie doesn't look like anyone to get upset with!?!
Lennie doesn't want to be a traitor to Otis, he goes & gets Otis & because it is such a nice day out, we sit out on Chris' front porch.
Nice Country View from Chris' front porch
From this picture, what you can't see is Otis sitting on Lennie's lap giving Sadie an occasional snarl! We had a nice visit, before leaving, even tho Chris' birthday isn't till August....I wanted to give her, her birthday gift now!!!Actually I didn't want to haul it around till August & then have to try & find a box to mail it to her!!!!!
This is a Garden Plate, it fits on a piece of re bar, & she can place it any where she wants to in her park-like back yard!
This is a unique bird feeder we bought at a shop while visiting in Charleston. The owner of the shop told me,"All purchases come with a FREE GIFT BAG"!!!!! Check out that gift bag!!!
She liked it!!!

Randy, who's staying with Chris temporarily, his 2 dogs, Buddy & Loren. Otis didn't pay any attention to them, maybe cause they were penned up???

Bye you guys.....see you later! Otis did NOT say Good-Bye to Sadie!
