July 7, 2013 Back at Rocky Mountain National Park!

Today we are going to go back into Rocky Mountain National Park! I thought just Lennie & I were going, but nooooo, Otis is going too!?! After breakfast, when I pack the picnic lunch, I pack a little something for Mr Spoiled!!!
It's a relaxing day, we're not in a big rush. We're hoping all the working tourist have left to head back home after the holiday!

We went in a different Park entrance this time, still had to get in line....they should have a Pass Only Line!!

I hope we get lucky with the wildlife again!

One thing you can count on for sure.....if you don't spot any wildlife, there's still an abundance of scenery!

First stop, Bear Lake. You have to walk a short distance from the parking lot to view Bear Lake.

As we entered the parking lot, the Ranger told us the parking lot was FULL! I guess all the tourist haven't gone back home yet!?! We figure we're just going to turn around & continue driving through the Park but then.....Lennie spied a parking space!!! There were no cars in front of us, so we knew that spot was ours!!! We still have a problem...OTIS! Dogs are NOT allowed on any of the trails! It's just a short distance to the lake. It's 68 degrees out, Otis will be okay in the car! Here we go!

You can hike around the whole lake, a distance of a half mile, but with Otis waiting in the car, we didn't. Just a few photos.

Disappointed we didn't see any wildlife this time through the park, but never disappointed in the beautiful scenery!

My camera batteries were in the yellow, but I kept clicking away!

(I always have extra batteries in the camera bag!)

We decided to leave Rocky Mountain National Park & head back to Drake, to the RV Park. We never go directly back to the RV park! There's always something to see along the way.Sure enough, there was Lake Mary, we need to get a picture of that!

& then this beautiful old Catholic Church, St Catherine's, just begging to be photographed! This church is located in Allenspark,Co(just outside of Rocky Mnt National Park) It has earned the reputation of the most photographed church in Colorado!

I was really impressed with this church!

I wasn't the only one impressed with the church, Pope John ll while on a visit to Denver in 1992,came here to St Catherine's to pray!

Easy to see why the church, known as the Chapel on the Rock, is so widely photographed....

Each stop brings us a little closer to the RV Park! Lennie had to make a couple of phone calls & since the only time we have cell phone connection, is when we're in town.... he had to stop while we were in Estes Park. I didn't mind him stopping, there might have been a shop or two I forgot to go in when we were here looking around!?!

Okay....we're really heading back to the RV Park now!!! We have some leftovers we need to get rid of so dinner tonight is REAL SIMPLE!!!! Leftovers & what goes good with leftovers???? HOT DOGS!!!! Strange meal for a Sunday dinner, But I'm all for easy!?!

Doesn't take much cleaning up after hot dogs & leftovers! Otis is glad, he can go on his walk early tonight. then we can all sit back & relax the rest of our evening!
