Another scenic drive-Anniversary in Montreal

October 8, 2015-Thursday- Let's hurry up & drink our coffee I know another scenic day is planned! Too bad it's just a little chilly for picnics. The picnic sites are plentiful & the scenery abounds us!Let's see where we're off to today????
As we pull out of the campgrounds you can see we're still pretty much to ourselves....
There's this guy.....I wonder what he did with the other half of his trailer!?!
                                                                   Here we go!!!!!
Today we plan to enjoy the fall foliage as we drive to the town of Adirondack.
Hmmmmm, I wonder where the town got that name from!?!

                                                           Such a beautiful drive.....

Wonder what you're looking at??? My camera peering through a barn window!

My "postcard" Photo!
OOOOOOH time for lunch!
We enjoyed soup with a half of sandwich,,,,saving room for home made pie. Lennie chose apple crumb, I chose black raspberry!!! But we were too full to eat our pie, sooooooo, we took it to go!

Waiting for our pie!!!!

HAVE WE RUN OUT OF SCENERY? ARE OUR EYES FULL??? NOPE! DRIVING ON!

The water was so clear, it was easy to capture this red leaf lying on the bottom....
I think this is what gave man the idea to invent.....The modern day Coat Tree!?!

Guess where we're at???

King of the Mountain here!?!

                                                               SCHROON LAKE

Finally....the General Store in Adirondack, New York

Outside of the store is a picnic area, the perfect place to eat our pie!
                                                            Hey.....I didn't get any pie????
Heading back to the RV park, first we are going to stop by the Pet Lodge where Otis will be spending the night tomorrow!?!
October 9,2015-Friday- Today is our 39th Anniversary! When we knew we were coming to Plattsburgh, New York & we were only going to be an hour away from the Canadian border.....Lennie researched things to do in Montreal. We decided we would go there for the night & enjoy Old Montreal. The weather these past few days have been sooooo nice for leaf peeping & just driving around. But sometime during the night I heard it raining & as I finished my coffee....it was POURING!!!!I am bummed! Oh well, what are you going to do when it's raining & you only have one day......you go anyhow!
Maybe it won't be raining in Canada!!!!
This is the Pet Lodge in Plattsburg where Otis will be staying! I hope our hotel in Montreal looks this nice!!!!
We dropped him off, he was NOT happy & we're off!
                                                                     Canada bound!

Lot of people going to Canada! 2 minutes worth of questions & we were through!

Oh Oh.....it is raining in Canada!!!!
This is our hotel, The Westin, or as they say over there....Le Westin!
Not too shabby,,,,,it's bigger than our whole RV!!!!

The TV screen.....how did they know we were here!?!
Backdrop to the pool area.....I wasn't prepared for a pool!
I should visit this room but....won't....

Walking around Montreal in, off & on rain

                                                            OOOOOH, Poor Otis!
Lunch break....NOT McDonalds!

This is a hotel....NOT our hotel!!!

Some of the landscape in front of the hotel, amazing!!!
OMG!!!! Look, we're eating again! Just a little pastry, FRENCH PASTRY!!!
This is the beautiful Notre-Dame Basilica. It cost $5.00 to go inside, but wait till we get inside, you will see it was worth the $5.00 admission price....It explains outside the church, that you can walk around inside on your own, or go on a Tour(at no extra cost) in either French or English. We were just going to walk around on our own but.....once we got inside, we recognized a tour in progress so we joined them & lucky for us.....the tour guide spoke English with a very FRENCH accent!
The church was just beautiful!!!
One of 4 functional Confessionals. They have the Priest name above the door so you know who you're getting when you go in!
The church's pipe organ that plays at every mass & special music presentations.
The tour guide told us it was in this very church that Celine Dion got married! Then he took us through doors at the back of the church & we entered the churches chapel! Most of the chapel was destroyed by fire 1978. It was rebuilt between 1978 & 1982.
The tour guide said there are 200 weddings a year preformed in the chapel & a 2 year waiting list, where "Normal" people get married. Only Celine Dion & famous Hockey Players get married in the main church!!!  Now we are free to roam on our own!

This the pulpit
Such a beautiful church & a nice place to duck the rainy weather!
                                                   Going to Chinatown for dinner!
                                                              Pretty nice restaurant!
After dinner we just walked around to see the city lights.
                                                       Notre-Dame Basilica at night!

 October 10, 2015-Saturday
We are preparing to leave & what a difference a day makes!!!The sun is out!!!!
Coffee & a Chinese pastry, Not a bad combination!?!

After our coffee & pastry, we walked back to the little bakery in Chinatown to get pastries to take home!
So hard to pick & choose!
These tourist are lucky they are riding today instead of yesterday's rain!

One last shot of the Notre-Dame Basilica
Everyone is out this nice sunny morning!

Time to head home.....Otis is waiting!
                                                                     New York bound!

Now everyone wants out of Canada! Took longer to leave then it did to get in!
                                       There's our FLAG I know we're almost Home-Free!
Just 2 more cars & finally we'll be on the other side of the border!

When it was finally our turn, we were only asked about 3 or 4 questions. What was taking so long in line????? Some people must have really been gabbing with Customs???? I guess they didn't have a dog waiting for them!?!
As we pull away from Customs, we turn the radio back up, & OMG look what Blues singer is singing!!!! Truly a sign Otis is waiting for us. Here we come Otis!!!
