Finger Lakes region of New York Scenic Letchworth State Park

October 1, 2015-Thursday-This morning we are leaving Ohio, our destination is the Finger Lakes region of New York, specifically.....Mt. Morris, New York.
It's a little drizzly out as we start our morning.

Wish us luck cause I think Otis is driving this morning!?!
Here we go, so far Otis is doing okay!!!!

                                                                 Just passing through! Next.......

Here's a road sign I've never seen before???

It's a good place to stop for lunch & TEXT if we need to!?!

CONTINUING ON.....
Is THIS New York?????
& THIS TOO???
OH NOOOOOO! This is New York????? Otis thought we'd seen the last of the Amish horse & buggies!?!
We have arrived at our RV Park, Ridge RV in Mt Morris, New York
The back side of the RV park where all the permanent camper are, is pretty nice. The front part of the park where the temporary people come in to set up, well......it could use some work!?! Our first site was so unlevel we had to ask for another site. The second site, a pull through, is not much better but we'll make due!I start dinner then go to the laundry, they only have 2 washing machine & 2 dryers. good thing I only had to loads of laundry. I had to wash our blue jeans, cold weather is here!!! Not only did I wear my winter pajamas to bed....I had the electric blanket set on 7 & it only goes up to 9!

October 2, 2015-Friday- Last night Lennie did his normal research on what we're going to see & do while in the Finger Lakes Region. This morning we are going to Letchworth State Park. This state park is known as the Grand Canyon of New York. I'm anxious to see it, so is Otis, this is one state park where dogs ARE allowed!!! After coffee & oatmeal we're ready to start our day. We are definitely dressed differently this morning. We are now sporting jeans, sweatshirts & coats!!!Oh....& I made myself a hat!!!

Am I going with today???
Yes Otis, you are going, this is one State Park where dogs are actually allowed!

This area is called the "GRAND CANYON" of the East.
Letchworth State Park, with some of the magnificent scenery in the United States, comprises 14,350 acres along the Genesee River. Within the park, the river roars over three major waterfalls, one of which is 107 feet high. The cliffs, created by the river's path over thousands of years, approach 600 feet.We were really impressed with with this State Park & that means I took way too many pictures to post....but never enough pictures to remember the moment! I'd like to say that I'm posting my favorite pictures but....I think they were all my favorite!?!
                                                                      Morris Dam
Geese in flight

                                                              Someone being silly!?!

Driving within the park

They had beautiful picnic sites (TOO cold today for a picnic!!!)

                                                                Shower Curtain Waterfalls

I have many more pictures, not counting the ones stored in my visual memory! What a beautiful State Park!!!! If we ever find ourselves in this area again....we will come back & visit this park again!
