July 2, 2013 Drake,Colorado

Last night Lennie said to me,"If I were you I'd take my shower before bed instead of in the morning!?!"(We've been waking up to some pretty cool mornings!) But.....when he finished his shower, a wave of laziness came over me & I thought, I'll just tough it out in the morning! This morning, I heard my coffee water  & I was wishing I had taken my shower the night before...it was hard to face that shower while it was still chilly out!?! That cup of coffee sure taste good, took the chill off the morning too! We start our departure routine. The cottonwood RV Park owner, Winnie, came over to our RV, she wanted to thank me once again for knitting her the scarf & I think she really wanted to say "Good- bye" to Otis one more time!?! Otis & I head to mountain one more time, for the last time!
Lennie is just about done with the outside & we'll be ready to roll!

We are leaving Cottonwood RV in Idaho Springs & going to Stage Stop RV Park in Drake, Colorado. It's not too long a drive but along the way we stop at a Walmart for a few grocery item (we found some FAT-FREE Brownie Sundae ice cream!)& lunch in the parking lot! I think Otis likes picnics better! Tomorrow Otis, tomorrow we're going on a picnic.
From this Walmart we're about 20 miles to the RV Park. that's nice to know in case we run out of that ice cream!
We haven't run out of scenery yet!?!
We arrive at Stage Stop RV Park in Drake & learned not only is it an RV Park, it's also a restaurant, plus a Bed & Breakfast!
In 1905 this was a Historic Stagecoach stop!
The owner told us we should come to the restaurant for dinner on Friday night, his son plays in the band, We might just do that!?!
This RV Park is full of potential! Our Site is right on the Big Thompson River. It's a beautiful site, but......the park itself, well......!?! I think the owner, is getting too old to maintain the park properly. He probably puts all his efforts into the restaurant & the Bed & Breakfast??? (His son could help him more???) Regardless we love our site, it is soooooo relaxing to hear the river!

                                                                       & our site.....
I took this picture out the front window!
We sit outside relaxing till it's time to go start dinner. A quick dinner of tacos & Spanish rice. While we were at Walmart getting grocery items, we bought the makings for pizza! I can't wait for that night!!!When dinner is over, dishes done.....it's time to take Otis for his nightly walk!
There's a mountain here too & a path leading up the mountain but......there's no rule that pets have to potty up the mountain & there's no "SACRED" grass here, Otis can go anywhere(as long as I'm following behind him with a bag!).
The owner told us that just 3 days ago, a bear was spotted on this bridge in the daylight!!! I would love to see a bear on the bridge from our RV's front window!!!!
Tho Otis is ready to go inside the RV, (he wants a treat!) we sit outside a bit longer, till the mosquitoes drive us inside.
Don't spoil the dog Len, don't spoil the dog.......

Well.....we better have a little of that ice cream before we go to bed!!!!

Tomorrow we're going to Rocky Mountain National Park!
