Today was a great day!!! We went to Rocky Mountain National Park, you know what that means.....too many pictures!?! Our routine starts with breakfast, but Lennie is not just having breakfast, he's multi-tasking! Breakfast & trip planning!
After our regular routine is done with, I take Otis for his potty walk & I had a letter to mail. the post office is right in front of the RV park. Lennie had already put our picnic lunch& cameras in the car, but before I left with Otis, I saw him talking to the owner of the RV Park. When Otis & I were done, Lennie was still talking, so Otis & I sat down, Lennie kept on talking......OMG! Lennie knows NO strangers so I knew this conversation could be long winded!?! Finally Lennie tells the guy that we've got to get going! Yay & down the road we go!
We've been to Rocky Mountain National Park before, but yeah, that was over 30 years ago! Here we are again! We chose to go today, the 3rd, thinking we would beat the holiday tourists! We were pleasantly surprised by the traffic inside the park!
This is a National Park, we get line, but we have the pass!!!
Although the National Park was dedicated in 1915, construction of its primary artery didn't begin until 1929. Today, 48-mile-long Trail Ridge road traverses alpine tundra & woodlands, making it decidedly deserving of its National byway designation.
Our first pull-over is at Sheep Lake. It is suppose to be the best spot to see Bighorn sheep, & EVERYONE is looking!
& more scenery!
Then our picnic.....!?!
The best part of our picnic lunch was the Photo that got away!!!! While making our lunch, a HUGE bug was on the front of my T-shirt unbeknown to me!?! Lennie warned me of the bug, which I shook off, it landed on my bench....I gave it another flick & sent it flying. When he was done laughing at my reaction to the creepy bug, Len said he should have taken a picture of the bug first, then told me! Yeah right!?! I can imagine the expression on my face when I saw that bug's antennae!!! I wanted to finish lunch in a hurry after the bug experience!!!
Not really I just wanted to see some more scenery....& we did!
There was soooooo many scenic pictures to take!
Scenery wasn't our only snap shots, we saw wildlife!!!
No really, we saw wild life!
We saw HERDS of deer
& we saw deer playing Dodge Car
We also saw Moose!
Someone in the crowd said this was an ELK? I can't tell the difference, I was just happy to snapping pictures of wildlife! But my favorite picture of wildlife today was.....
This One!!!
This was a great day inside Rocky Mountain National Park. we got the sights in just in time, before the afternoon rain!
tho the rain does make for some interesting pictures!
Before we reached the Park entrance the rain was already over,
We're going to come back another day, I couldn't take pictures of everything in just one day!
Back to the RV Park!
Dinner tonight....I was a little leery of!?! During our travels, Lennie picked up a 4 pack of bison burgers! He grilled them once & I didn't like them! (TOO DRY)I vowed I wouldn't eat them again, but this morning he suggested we fix the remaining bison burgers with Sloppy Joe mix??? Needless to say, I wasn't looking forward to dinner. Much to my surprise, the bison burger were edible that way!!!
Tomorrow is 4th of July! It's going to be a laid back day!!!
Happy 4th. Todays album had some wonderful photography. My favs were 6, 10, 16, 19 and 21. I sure am enjoying all your blogs. Good job.
