This morning when I woke up, my head was sooooo stuffed, like I was on an airplane & my ears hadn't un-popped yet!?! As I sat up I could feel the room spin, I can take the spinning as that only lasts a second or two I just don't want the headache that usually accompanies the other sensation! At breakfast I took 2 generic motion sickness tablets. It was worth a try!!
Today we're going back to Minnehaha Parkway to see more of the park. There are just miles & miles of the park. The different sections of the park have their own named section. We drove first to Minnehaha Falls at the park, just to get our bearings. this time we were going to drive more into downtown Minneapolis. We found ourselves at the section of the park called Mill Ruins Park. You could see the old history of the mills here, Pillsbury, Gold Medal Flour. Part of the old crumbling mills were still standing & new buildings were built around the ruins to preserve the old with the new. The new buildings looked to be apartments, maybe lofts or condos, I would have liked to see the inside of these places!
It was interesting to see these ruins & try to imagine what it must have been like during their hey day!
Lennie & Otis are ahead of me as walking down these steps my head didn't "feel right" I took my time going down, & joined them at the site below!
Another bridge picture & we're moving on! We were really hoping to see a boat go through the locks, but we weren't that lucky!
Back in the car we continue driving. Not only is the park beautiful, but the houses that line the streets across from the parks are in my words....mansions, miles & miles of them! Then of course we came to a REAL MANSION, the Governor's mansion!
We want to see the Capital building too!
All this driving & getting in & out of the car to take pictures in today's heat makes me think we need a treat! Lennie asks the GPS where a Yogurt shop is & thank goodness that little gadget knows everything!
Another Sculpture Park! I didn't know Lennie was so into Art Sculptures!?! The first thing we saw was not a sculpture, but newlyweds playing miniature golf!
These sculptures were also a little strange, not quite as weird as the sculptures in the field we saw, but still strange!
This was the favored sculpture. Might be called, SPOON WITH CHERRY?
I guessed this one to be GLASS or WINDOWS or REFLECTION
TWO WAY WINDOWS!
Okay I'm done guessing! I guessed the last one we looked at to be The Big Fish
Lennie was the only one to guess right, he guessed this one to be ARCHES...
We feel we covered the park & surrounding area pretty good for this trip. We could pass this way again on another trip, you never know!
Back at the RV Lennie is going to steam some shrimp & scallops on the grill along with some mixed veggies. Dinner preparation is easy for me tonight all I have to fix is some rice! Otis doesn't like these kind of dinners there's nothing we had tonight that he likes! Sorry Otis, tonight you try being a dog & eat your dog food!
We ate dinner & walked Otis early tonight because.....we're going to go over to the Casino! Nooo we're not gamblers, just to look around! The Casino is completely separate from the RV park, but just one phone call & a bus is sent right to your RV site!
I did say we're not gamblers but I did throw a dollar away in one slot machine! I picked the machine because it had a picture of a turtle. I figured I couldn't go wrong!?! I stopped at a $1.00!!! It didn't take long to lose the dollar!?! We walked around looked at the buffets, actually the buffet prices & were surprised the prices were pretty reasonable. We've seen enough, time to hop back on the purple bus back to our RV site!
I'm not sure yet what tomorrow's agenda is!?!
